This should be unacceptable for a 3 million dollar a year Coach/CEO.

Might could have finished the game against Alabama if you had "oversigned." Instead your defense got tired and run the frick over.

That was the point of my entire post.

Bryant had a scholarship rule enacted because of him. I can almost assure you that Saban will too.

I can promise you if this was Auburn oversigning and not Bama the past few years, Bama fans would be pissed.

2009 signees: Bama 27, AU 28
2010 signees: Bama 26, AU 32
2011 signees: Bama 22, AU 24
2012 signees: Bama 26, AU 21

Total signees: Bama 101, AU 105

Are we "pissed"? Hear us griping about AU oversigning?

P.S.

Yep, I am agreeing with you. Teams lose A LOT of players for various reasons in the offseason. If you aren't a good bit over 85 after signing day, you are pretty much assuring yourself of not having the total 85 the NCAA allows you to have in the fall. It's like voluntary scholarship sanctions.

I hate Richt's whole thing about never going over the 85 limit because he doesn't want to put himself in a position to have to "cut" a kid. That would most likely never happen as long as you're within like 5 of the limit after NSD.

I do think that going as far over as Bama did this year is overkill. They're most likely going to have to cut someone, although the Funions 4 (whoever came up with that is genius, btw) helped Saban greatly in that regard.

It's not about the number you sign each year, but the total number and how you get there. If you have 80 scholly players coming back signing over 5 more is oversigning.

Just another casualty from the Texas beatdown. Bama leaves a wake of angry people after their NC beatdowns.

UGA has at least 5 of the same kids every year. Why plan prudently to replace them every year as well. That is my only point.

Also, it's somewhat remarkable how successful UGA was this year for being 20 scholarships short before awarding 5 to walk-ons.

Based on what? The writer states in his chart that everything he listed is unofficial estimates. He hasn't a clue how many is really on scholly.

Why are the Bama fans outraged at the media scrutiny? Y'all are one of the most talked about teams in the media and a program that generates huge amounts of money. All eyes are on you. Act like you've been there before.
