He makes a lot of excuses and whines.

I'll take Bianco.

You mean like most coaches?

No doubt. He's a good fit. Fans calling for his head prior to the CWS run were way off and totally stupid.

I do. He's a dick. But I think most fans would readily acknowledge that

I know a bunch of former players and parents of these players...he maybe a prick, but they respected him and played hard for him.

Hell, our outfield in 2007 was just plain sick (Kipnis, Sawyer, and Cowgill)

But seriously, his personality and attitude are horrible. A better question would be if you were a player would you want to play for him?

Some players gravitate to those type coaches. Think of Bear Bryant (The Junction Boys), Frank Kush, Bobby Knight, Woody Hayes, Bull Sullivan (head coach at EMCC a long time ago) and many more that were better than most at recruiting.
The problem I have with Cohen is when things are going well, he is not nearly as intense as when things aren't going well. He puts too much pressure on these guys when things are tough. You have to play baseball relaxed. You can't if you know the next screw up lands you on the bench.

You mean winning %... I'm gonna assume he did have a batting average below .500 in SEC games 20+ years ago.

I'm pretty sure that Ron Polk wasn't the nicest person to be around when things didn't fall his way, because I know ole Skip wasn't. I recall a buddy of mine back in the late 90's who was a pitcher at the time relating that after a bad outing on the mound and Skip walked out to get him. He says Skip told him:
"Get off my mound, you're a frickin embarrassment."

ADs always have a short list in the top drawer. You never know when you might lose a coach - even without notice (accidents/medical, etc.).

LOL, frick Cohen? The dude coached UK to a SEC Regular Season Championship and we hosted. That itself, is a miracle.

Still early in the process, but my sources say the leading candidates right now are Jon maddon, Bruce bochy, and Clint hurdle.
