This is a horrible idea from the getgo. The liability these schools with on campus stadiums would face would be way too high for them to even consider doing this.

I would support it.
A lot of schools outside of the SEC have alcohol sales and they don't have any problems.
Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Connecticut, Hawaii, Houston, Kent State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisville, Miami, Memphis, Nevada, Nevada-Las Vegas, Rice, San Diego State, South Florida, Syracuse, Temple, Tulane and West Virginia all sell beer at games.

Opening up alcohol sales to our redneck masses will lead to massive upticks in violent incidents inside the stadiums.
West Virginia sells beer. There was no uptick in violence when they started. If those hillbillies can be well behaved, then so can SEC fans.

There is almost always a disclaimer holding the the school harmless. Same with pro teams. You purchase a ticket, you accept responsibility for whatever happens.

This coupled with the example of WV, makes me a convert. Jobu needs a refill!

A part of me wants to say yes but ive been to games where everyone around me was sloshed and more worried about buying more beer than watching the game(this was a BCSNCG) and it was super annoying. At Bama football games(and other SEC venues) people get really fired up and alcohol would make this much worse. I say go to the game to watch the game. Do your drinking before and after games.
Baseball would be the one sport that would benefit the most but I really wouldnt be in favor of it for football.

I was just saying that if WVU fans aren't more violent when alcohol is introduced in stadium, then SEC fans can at least accomplish that.

Alcohol is rampart on campus and at tail gating so I am not sure the need to sell in the stadium.

that disclaimer is for something happening to you in the stadium. If the stadium sold a man 20 beers and he killed someone while going home drunk it would be the same in my opinion as a local bar letting a man get drunk and not taking his keys away and he kills someone with his car

Most of those schools are chit hole schools who don't make money at FB.

I assumed most stadiums (stadii?) already had that kind of club-level set-up, Stripes.

Good point, but this would be for anybody. Not just the wealthiest boosters. A place you could walk in between quarters or during halftime.

What do you think Budweiser would pay to be the official beer of Alabama Football?
Posted on 2/23/13 at 11:43 am to TigersOfGeauxld
Yes, people are going to drink regardless. The amount of money schools would bring in for each and every sporting event would be an unreal jump in percentages in sales.

who cares.. Bama FB makes plenty of money without the need to sell beer in the stadium. Now ole mrs may need to
And I might add, Bama is trying to clean up its image as a party school. I seriously think they would not begin to fly with this idea
