its kind of like that for the playoffs starting this year if team A kicks a FG then team B gets a chance, but if team A scores a TD then game over.

I thought they added a rule so that the other team has a chance to score if they have yet to have possession of the ball.
ETA: nm that's just post-season play.

So, on 4th and 10 from the fifty , you must go for it?

didn't surprise me and i was fine with the idea, but the execution was horrendous. he is getting a good bit of heat here now and rightfully so. they have really fricked this year up and i hope they enjoy julio because they mortgaged our future on the 2nd best WR with brick hands and a propensity to the IR. he's jerrious norwood but this time we paid so much more. fricking idiots.

I wish each team got the ball at the 50. Would make it a little tougher to score

Yeah I'd rather have a full 8 minutes of play with 4th qtr rules in effect.

nah id just move it back to the 35. going back to ties is fricking retarded and might be one of the dumbest ideas i have ever seen.

I'd like to see it from the 50.

Start on the 10, require 2 pt conversion after 1st overtime. No first downs.. one chance to score and win it in OT.
If tied after two overtimes.. borrow a page from hockey.
Each kicker gets a kick, starting from the 15. If both make it, the next kick goes from the 20. If both make that, the next moves another 5 yds back, and so on and so forth until there is a winner. Might even do this after one overtime. Might make folks go for 2 to win then.

Very interesting...

would maybe prevent teams from having injured players from being on the field so long and punishing them for the next game for having to play so long.

How bout going back to the way it use to be. A Tie.

Could just have a two-point conversion shoot out. After the 1st overtime, start at the 3. One play to score then move to defense.

that'd work too. Just figured would make ST's a bigger factor, since both offenses and defenses had 4 qtrs to get it done, and it'd be less wear and tear on skill players and they wouldn't go into the next game too worn down.

Leave it as is, except start from the 40.

I don't see a problem with just adding 15 minutes to the game, extra quarter. Whoever is ahead then.If at end of 15 minutes the game is still tied, then makem start at the 50 and earn the shite.

I'm ok with it the way it is. At the most extreme, move teams back to the 50. The only problem with that is the first team to play would not have pressure on them to get a TD since they are alot more likely to even keep a team out of field goal range IMHO.
