LSU- You were never really in consideration for the postseason after being the pick in the preseason for conference champ.

Tennessee- You're in, but completely embarrassed yourself proving your doubters right.

I'm not asking Tennessee or LSU fans. Tennessee fans would for sure not be embarrassed as many are calling the season a success and playing up what an unfair opponent they got in E. Carolina as a three seed.

LSU fans will easily say they'd prefer not to make the tournament at all as it's a huge head start in recruiting and the portal and they'll completely make the whole tournament a laughing stock next year with Jay Johnson getting a days and weeks advantage over the field.

But what do the rest say?

I’ll speak for everyone else and say that most would like to have won the last 3 national championships like us and Tennessee rather than having 1 singular national championship 36 years ago. I may be incorrect on this but it’s just a hunch.

Just like you'd rather have two national titles and four sec titles in football rather than having 1 of each over the last ten seasons. All true, but not the question.

Hines, you were a great player for Georgia and the Steelers. There’s no need to be up this late shitposting.

I'd rather not have to reply to this troglodyte post, but somehow, I find myself here... replying to (probably) a pedophile who voted for Trump.

Yawn at all these try hard attempts to be funny on a shitty forum

You'd be extremely wrong on both counts. It is four in the afternoon currently. Not sure what I've ever done that would make you want to accuse me of pedophilia.

Given what is often said on this board politically, would make sense you would think I'm MAGA. I generally think most on here are unless they let it be known they are not. If you didn't vote for him, that's a plus in my book. Good on you.

Making the postseason to immediately get eliminated is basically just a moral victory.

I'd agree with this if you are already considered at the top or have not gone through a long stretch of losing just prior.

For instance: Georgia making the basketball tournament, despite being bounced in blowouts the last two years, still feels like something was accomplished.

Neither Tennessee nor LSU baseball was in that spot obviously.

Georgia getting bounced the last two football playoffs didn't feel great, but I think it feels completely different than what it would be in baseball or basketball. Georgia was one of the last 8 teams left in football. So you're already in fairly elite territory.

But if you've recently been a national champ or even made several runs in Omaha, I'm not sure there would be much difference going 0 for 2 in the tournament and not even getting in.

That said, Tennessee was six games better than LSU in the conference. That's a bigger difference than runner-up Texas to Tennessee. So there is not much doubt that Tennessee had a much better regular season. But just in following the team all season, how much difference does it make when you were expecting so much more.

LSU.

Couldn’t care less about the recruiting

Would be extremely upset about being put out out by two lower seeds.

For most LSU fans, we knew halfway through the season the team wasn’t going to make the field.

And believe it or not, at LSU when it comes to baseball (like Bama in football) the season is a failure without reaching Omaha.

Not hard - making the playoffs is better than not making the playoffs.

The pain of losing a championship to Fresno State is really showing.

Win one and you’ll understand that LSU and Tennessee had the same outcome this year.

I would rather 2024 or 2025 than 1990.

Tennessee at least has the luxury of sharing a border with the Great State of Kentucky.

We did. It was a great day. Remember it well. Sadly, our hero that series passed away a few years back.

How much would you rather 2024 or 2025 than 1998?

Or 2021 or 2022 than 1998?

I know you aren’t asking Tennessee or LSU fans, but I’ll chime in anyway.

Rational VOLS fans (meaning not Serraneaux) knew we’d have a bit of a drop off this season. I didn’t expect to make the post season at all.

From what I’d read, LSU fans seemed to think they’d be going to Omaha again.

I’m not going to fuss about our region. We had a group of good teams, and they came to play. Hats off to ECU and VCU. To be the best, you have to beat the best, whatever the route.

I’d rather be a VOL in this situation. First year coach, lots of attrition, almost zero bullpen… hoping Elander can recruit or utilize the portal well.

Good luck to the remaining SEC teams.
