... that would be a venue for discussing SEC sports, but without the nastiness from some posters?
IOW, maintain two SEC boards: One board for people looking to legit discuss the games and their universities in a non-ridiculous manner and another board that would be—in essence—this one?

Need one called the SEC Slaughter board where ppl go to just eviscerate each other and then one called the SEC with Sense board for ppl wanting rational discussions. I'd most likely split my time between the two.

I don't know how you would keep the two separate, unless you make the new one by invited only like the team boards.

TBH the SECR in its current format needs a lot more than one active mod. Or unleash it and like EKG said, create a new space and put controls in place.

A lot of the shite talking about your school comes from the fact that there are a few very prolific posters calling aTm their own that are terrible posters and have significant online/made-up rivalries with LSU posters.
For these two groups, it’s personal and no longer about sports
And in the same vein, because this is an LSU site, LSU has a lot of prolifically bad posters that reply fig, Faggy, and yell leader to every aTm post. Just ignore them

I kind of see where you're coming from. This place is basically 4chan for sports nerds, rather than regular nerds. I don't really mind the trolling since there are some really clever people on this site. I hate it when someone is trying to have a serious discussion about something and the replies are low effort trolls like "melt bitch," "bamasessed," "free rent," etc.
But we've all been on sites where no shenanigans are allowed, and it's fricking unbearable. The "serious" board would be a desert island with a quickness. The only people who thrive in those situations are Internet-illiterate boomers who don't understand online interaction. Go see Arkansas' main fan board, hogville, to see all the evidence you need.

Wouldnt be worth having to sit there and moderate a board that would get troll posts 24/7.
