Why all the down votes?

Maybe people don't realize that Saban actually said that it was a mistake leaving BR.

Of course you know little about the big names in baseball. Your Auburn Tigers are so bad they ought to discontinue the program.

There were some renderings of upgrades to LNS that leaked today, safe to say the announcement for those should be happening fairly soon.

We have boosters that will match any offer he received elsewhere. The AD won’t even be involved.

And he’s already getting top 5-10 classes to Knoxville, and has assembled one of the best teams in baseball by year 4. Fortunately for this board, last season was canceled and they were spared from a BaseVOLS squad that was much better than this years group.

I'd actually like McDonald from Louisville or Vitello from Tenn. Vitello is the only coach I'd want from the SEC. Just IMO.

Baton Rouge is pretty terrible. Knoxville is a much better city - much better

I’d like to believe UT would do whatever it takes to keep him here. We are desperate to be a winner at anything.

Is that not exactly what he's doing right now at Tennessee? Tennessee fans give a frick right now because they suck at everything else. LSU actually cares about baseball and is a national brand poised to be reinvigorated.

Agreed. There are a number of other coaches that I would rather than O'Sullivan. I do like Vitello.

You have to like how good Vitello has been for how young and inexperienced of a coach he is.

We are top 5 annually in attendance for hoops, and still average over 85k for a dead football program. We will fill the stands for whatever

Plenty in Knoxville care about baseball, but the program was pathetic for about a decade after we fired Hot Rod.

Uh, the parts of baton rouge that vitello will be able to afford to live in are very very nice. You are an idiot. Baron rouge has nice parts as well as rough parts like any other sizeable city metro area. Vitello will live very well here.

Where do people pull shite like this from? The AD won’t be involved?

I keep seeing Vol fans saying Tennessee will match but will they? Will they really? LSU is going to throw over $1 million at whoever they go after. Is UT ready to more than double his salary for a program that costs their AD money?

We’ll see I guess.

Every man has a price. Surely Tennessee has the boosters to match any offer no?

Dude prob has same goals as all large program coaches- get to the top, and make top dollar. So would come to which place could offer the best route to make it and sustain it. Not saying easiest- just best direction for him and all.

I would guess- a Tenn offer to keep him would be matching $$ plus some plan to make serious facility upgrades ( assuming tenn faculties are lacking)
Would be interesting to see the most recent baseball rev rankings - seems like there are only a handful that break even/or turn a profit. Would think UT would be looking hard into a potential ROI.

Coaches care way less about where they live than this board.

Every shithole state has nice places where the rich folks live.

True, but their wives care.
This being said, I think the only college town in the SEC way above the others would be Nashville.

The other 13 aren’t far and away better than one or the other.

Bet their wives care way more about cashing the fatter checks than what state they happen to be doing it in though.

Besides, Vitello doesn't have a wife.
