Since they are now division III in athletics they aren't a factor

They have one donor who is involved and that's it. But donor money isn't nearly as important as fan support (that's how the money is made).

The school itself doesn't have many fans and they're very fairweathered. They rarely have sellouts and their TV ratings are abysmal. The fans always blame their AAC schedule as the reason why they don't show up or have good tv ratings. But the attendance and ratings continue to suck in the Big12. Adding UH will reduce the payout per school.
