Yes, just like losing to LSU helped them in 2011. They avoided having to play in the SECCG and had an automatic berth in the NCG while LSU had to play its way in by beating Georgia in the SECCG.

To say it helped is absurd. We were a razor thin margin away from being left out for Okie State.

Without a huge upset we would have been completely dead.

Putting yourself at the mercy of fate is a terrible position to be in

If there is expansion the number is 6 teams.

#1 & #2 get a bye in the first round and
3 vs 6
4 vs 5

This keeps teams playing hard late in the season to stay 1 or 2 and get a bye. It also allows 2 more teams to get in and solve that 5th team argument. I think there needs to be another stipulation though. No team with more than 2 losses can compete.

Even if we beat Bama like we did UGA they would still get in. Wisconsin is not winning the Big Title game. The Big Ten West is worse than the SEC East let that sink in.

I mean, you guys have already lost twice. Unless the committee has decided that games during the first half of the year don't count, you really shouldn't complain about a system where you have a chance with two losses.

I don't think we are in if we lose to Auburn.

So, we are not going to lose to AU.

The only way we get in at that point will be a win by TCU over OU in their conference CG. I would wager Miami or CU is in. The PAC 12 is out. The Big10 will depend if Wisc can win out and they would be a lock in my opinion. A close win by OSU could help us.

I disagree. The committee said they will consider injuries.

I don't understand this logic. We played Clemson without a healthy RB and played LSU with 4 starters on D out and 3 starters along the OL out. I don't blame injuries for either loss, but if you go that route then it certainly hurt our chances.

Auburn 2016 might have been a playoff team if injuries were considered.

The SECC will be the only Playoff representative.
