Imagine how easy it is to negatively recruit if sark benched him before the season or even now.
The negative message has already been written and you can bet it will be used early and often.

That’s all just a coincidence and has nothing to do with Arch going to Texas

Except there are plenty of examples of 5 stars who have played to their potential and 3 and 4 stars who have been developed.
The draft picks the past few years support that. 5 years ago you would have been correct but thats simply not true any longer. Plus its game 5, again lets see if he gets better (which supports development and growth). If he is atrocious you might be right but as of right now he is not near the train wreck everyone is making the kid out to be, he just isnt a Heisman front runner which was ludacris to begin with lol

Tough to compare the media circus from 2025 to 1974, I believe one commentator famously said he would win 2 but I am not sure (this predates me) that he was universally lauded as someone who would win 2.
Glad to at least have a name though.
Did Ron walk into the job as a freshman with that universal hype?
Also looks Arch is much better statistically but again I understand its completely different eras.

Yes. Their was no internet in those days so if the leading college analyst at SI declared it, it was gospel.

if he wants to be developed and improve, he really needs to look at quinn. after 3 years that should show him just how advanced our qb "development" is. If he doesn't have people in his ear about that then he needs smarter people in his ear.

How about getting the Indiana HC for a start in Texas search for a new HC?

Sark isn't getting fired this year even if he goes winless in the SEC so it's pointless to talk about a replacement right now.
When we do have to move on from him, and we will at some point, I want a coach with strong SEC ties. No more of these west coast guys. The only guy I'd want to look at, outside the SEC, would be Dabo. A guy who has skins on the wall. Only if he'll embrace NIL. If not? no frickin' way.
Every new hire is a shot in the dark. Next guy might even be worse than sark but, if you really do want to win titles, you have to take those risks.

I think he’ll improve to the point where he’ll be good enough to stay a mediocre starter. The backups are still worse than him so sark will have to keep him

Nah. Sark has a pretty good track record with offense.
Texas will be fine getting top qbs to come there. Arch just isn't very good right now. I don't ever see him being some spectacular nfl qb either.

its game 5, again lets see if he gets better
If he doesn't get better, how many games in until it is safe to say so?

He should consider OleMiss, lane kiffin can develop QBs and he is familiar with the school.

There are strong rumors that he’s been talking Virginia and that his dad was recently in Charlottsville.

Powlus played at Notre Dame in the 90’s. He and Peyton are the two most hyped qb recruits I can remember until Arch. Eli was pretty hyped too, but not as much as the others

Depends, if the season is over from a playoff perspective I think you see if he can get better. Depends how bad, if he can’t complete pass you bench him by game 8-9. If he’s average you have to ride it out. What’s the point of benching him if the season is over?
