Bama scored a TD on a play where a receiver false started and it was never called. They weren't calling false starts in this game. Just FYI

And so did UGA.

Replay would have reversed the call.

Definitely out of bounds.

Close, but Good call

The still photo shows the foot clearly in bounds when he catches the ball. These days, with review, that would have been correctly called a touchdown

Still, this is like 24 years later and Alabama is so much better than Auburn that it doesn't matter.

The blown call and Spurrier freak-out makes this one my top choice.

I don't understand why LSU fans get so up in arms about the PP interception/non-interception call. It was so close that it could have gone either way, but that call isn't the reason LSU lost the game. The reason LSU lost the game is because their offense could not move the ball, at all. Peterson could have intercepted the ball at the Bama 1-yard line and LSU likely wouldn't have scored.

Touching the ball isn’t the same as having control.

No catch

Tyler Simmons was not offsides. This is the winner by a mile. This blown call was the difference in the game results in the National Championship!! Ridiculous.

He jumped early because of Bama false start that was not called.

UGA fans complaining about the officiating in the 2017 NCG with us is my favorite "But dem refs be cheatin'!" trope. They conveniently forget that in that very same game those very same cheating refs had an opportunity to take an UGA TD off the board when their receiver appeared to step out of bounds and they did not do it. So those dirty officials had to have been so amazing at cheating that they knew UGA scoring a TD wouldn't change the outcome of the game, but making or missing some random call on some other play would.

The SEC officials have been so kind to us since we've been in this league. Let's take a look at some of the calls over the past decade. We'll start with 2018.

2018:

UK v. Mizzou:
PI called on the Tigers with 0:00 seconds on the clock to give UK another shot at the end zone. They succeeded in their second attempt. This is not PI.

UGA v. Mizzou: This was a fun one and the official cost Mizzou the game. They lost by 14, but with the wonderful SEC officiating, there were at least three calls that did not go Mizzou’s way and, if you’re wearing your black and gold beer goggles, those calls cost the Tigers 17 points.

We'll start with the FG that was called a miss, but was actually good.

Let's take a closer look:

Same game. UGA player drops ball before crossing goal line. Still ruled a touchdown.

The still photo is showing as it is entering his hands, not as a completion. the foot on the ground comes up as he gains control for completion

They missed more/worse calls in UGA’s favor. Nobody wants to talk about that. An inconvenient truth.

The ball never moved. Possession was established.

Yes the ball wasnt bobbled, but he didnt gain full possession/control to make a completion until his foot was up. Just touching your hands does not make it a completion. Same reason PP interception was ruled incomplete

If the ball didn’t move, how can you determine when possession occurred if it’s not the first point of both hands being on the ball?

Because a completion is not when it first touches your hands. you know this, but please continue...
