But it wasn't cheating the govt. It was theoretically cheating your future neighbor(s), or keeping some from getting what they otherwise would have.
I could at least get behind the concept of the Boomer part. The Sooner thing to me simply never made much sense...

Ole Miss used to have the raddest mascot in the conference, but then the PC police got them. Now they are easily the worst. I mean, it isn't even close.

Yes, the Landshark is the lamest mascot in the conference. Cow, chicken, and pig are great for the grill. Tigers, eagles, gators, wildcats, and elephants kick arse. And dogs are my personal favorite, man I love dogs. Sooners are a fit because they are historically relevent and unique to their state and the same with the Volunteers. But landshark? Wtf?

More commonly referred to as red tide. Crimson Tide was used by a sporstwriter back in the day to describe Bama's lines and it stuck.
