The Tunica area is one of the worst areas I’ve ever seen. At one point it was a part of the poorest county in the United States.
I’ll second Orangeburg, SC and also add in Walterboro, SC.
Jackson, TN is downright frightening.
Newport, TN

Tunica is not the worst place in the delta, not by a long shot, really. There are large casino resorts nearby and has a super nice little airport for casino charters.
If you want to see hell drive south about 30 miles to Jonestown.

This is the funniest thing i've ever read. Truly I just burst out with laughter. It's absolutely pathetic if anyone thinks this

It’s ghetto and redneck as all get out. Living there would be the equivalent of the second level of Hell. Maybe I’ve been spoiled living in Nashville but you can keep that shithole.

isn't the whole Dillon SC area and near south of the border called the Trail of Tears among locals because it's so shitty?

That’s close. It was ranked the worst city to reside in South Carolina not long ago. It’s a truly awful place.
Georgetown was second. Abbeville, Greenwood,Walterboro rounded out the top five.

Hey a-hole Spartanburg, SC isn’t bad at all!
Personally I’d have to say I can’t stand Charleston in the summer. It smells like urine, much like New Orleans. As far as states Louisiana is my least favorite because the humidity and heat are insufferable followed by Kentucky because of the fact there isn’t much there to do.
If y’all wanna see nice places, do some traveling north, west, or internationally

Seriously man, it would open the eyes of some of the hicks here. Me personally, I’ve been everywhere east of Texas, Canada, the UK, and honestly the South has some of the most horrible cities and places to be. But the people are definitely more friendly than anywhere else (sans Canada, those people really are friendly as hell)

Everywhere I've been people have been friendly.
I've never said one place is less friendly than the other. I've yet to have any issues with that.

One of the best HS football programs in the state. Very very poor area. Lots of cotton and salt of the earth people there though.

I agree with chawk. Forty nine states and fifteen countries under my belt so far and the south does have some of the worst towns. However, places like Ohio and the rust belt aren’t much better. There’s always good with the bad. California has some shitholes, too.
And as far as Charleston smelling like irons in the summer..100% correct. Urine and horse scat. I loved going to undergrad there but that was always the worst part. Couldn’t live there again.

Yeah Ohio is dumpy too. My favorite city on this earth is Niagara Falls, and every year on the way up to visit my older sister in Missasauga, ON, we drive through and it’s just horrid
