Isn't that the coach that got fired from Baltimore in the middle of the season due to his flailing offense? Isn't Baltimore also the team whose offense miraculously came alive after his departure on its way to a Super Bowl championship?

Sure, whatever.

you know Miles was 42-11 with 2 SEC West titles, an SEC championship and a National Championship BEFORE Chavis showed up right?

you're just a glutton for punishment, aren't you?

Actually the Ravens averaged more points per game BEFORE Cameron left. I think it was more philosophical differences or personality differences. Or maybe it was missed red zone opportunities.

Yeah, Cameron isn't a "great" hire by any means. He was kind of the definition of "mediocre journeyman NFL OC." However, with the talent that LSU has on offense, they just need the OC to be average in order to produce at a higher level. In that sense it could end up being a good hire.

doesn't matter what fans think about Les...Les gets his chance to pitch his resume to recruits and obviously they are buying it. Hopefully, we can continue this level of success. Sure, we all get frustrated with the occasional losses, but rarely teams lose less than 2 games in a season.

Exactly, no matter what you think about the guy, you cannot deny the fact that he can recruit his arse off and has the program in a position to compete with anyone year in and year out.

Or the fact that he averages 10 wins year and has a .800 winning percentage. There isn't a college football program in the country that wouldn't sign up that kind of sustained success.

you don't really have to know the "intricacies" to know that an OC at 2 teams does not equal "journeyman" and being responsible for some of the leagues top offenses and offensive players does not equal "mediocre".

but whatever helps you sleep at night

Out of his last four jobs, he was fired from three of them.

I'll put it to you very simply:
There is a reason that he is now a college OC. No one in the NFL wanted him.
Believe it or not, I'm secretly rooting for him. I have grown tired of watching the wreck that Miles considers an offensive system. I'll probably be rooting for LSU in all but one game. I don't disrespect Miles because I harbor some sort of disdain towards LSU (though LSU fans are drunkards).

I don't necessarily agree with the "journeyman" statement, but why wouldn't care at all about that?

Would you care if your new OC was coming off 3-4 big time promotions?

He had a good run from 04-06. Besides those 3 years, Cameron was absolutely mediocre. Average rank in total yards was 16th. Average rank in points was 13th.
