The reid int was confirmed by the replay booth. Confirmed = proof it was intercepted meaning either way it would have been a pick no matter what.

This is for the history buffs.
Nov 7 1959, The Stop.
Cannon swears he was in then out.
Vols swear they brick walled em.

Dyers run against Oregon. Honestly, when I watch it today, I still say wtf.
That was clear as daylight, it was the right call.

BS! Watch the replay. He had total control of the ball. The refs ruled that he didn't get a foot down ( he got both down in bounds).
Look, I seriously doubt LSU would have been able to move the ball against Bama with the INT called, so Bama wins regardless. But, this was a horrific call. It is one of the primary reasons why the SEC went with HD TV's in the replay booth the next year.
Believe it or not, but the freaking SEC, with all their cash, didn't have HD TV's in the replay officials booth in 2009.

I figured the Tiger fans would bring this one up:

quote:Yep. He never had clear possession until he was out of bounds. +1 to the referees for getting it right.

Gaffney's "touchdown" against UT in 2000.

that just means they didnt have enough video evidence to overturn the call, and the bar to overturn an on field call is really high. if the call had gone the other way from the on field ref, ruled a reception, they wouldn't have been able to overturn that either. it was a coin toss, and you guys got lucky it was called the way it was on the field (again, mostly due to reid's celebratory reaction, as i doubt any of the refs had a good look as the play unfolded live). it should have been deemed simultaneous possession if anything, in which case it would have went to williams.

Would've been 1st & goal from the 5 1/2 yard line. not a big deal
Corey webster v bama for lsu.
The entire 06 game vs LSU for auburn
Florida caught some big breaks vs arky one year, but I can't recall the specific plays. Somebody help me out

Nope, he had control of the ball and both feet were down. Doesn't matter we lost.

wrong.
Stands vs confirmed vs reversed
I had to explain this to 10 gumps that day. They still don't get it
Confirmed means had they called it a reception on the field, it would have been reversed.

You're confusing "confirmed" and "stands".

Since nobody is here for the vandy fans:
It was 01 or 02 game against auburn in nashvillle (not sure on year)
The wide vandy wide receiver is in the corner of the end one, tries to make the catch, but clearly misses the ball as it hits off his hands and goes flying out of bounds. Ref calls it a TD. Call stands.

Call Stands means not enough evidence.
Play is confirmed means the call was correct and verified by replay officials.
Reversed is self explanatory.

Yes, because they were moving the ball so well against AL D and so many touchdowns were scored.

That was easily the worst call I've ever seen.

in 1999 our running back crawled into the endzone to beat LSU

Haha yeah it was against Arky in 09. Several bs penalties on them that helped us get down the field and kick the game winning fg.

Figured a Florida fan would mention the Cooper TD in the 2009 LSU game.
