Man, some of you people are dumb as shite. Pittman failed his damn self. Hiring Petrino in the first place was a desperation move by Pittman that he had to have known was a huge gamble. He failed. I love the guy, but he wasn't getting it done. You don't lose to Memphis and then allow Notre Dame to put up 500 yards of offense in the first half alone the following week and expect to keep your job. Petrino didn't have to do shite.

Johnny had a very limited role. He was also there for LSU. He was still recovering He did not fully retake the reins until the Arkansas game.

Pittman? That is just dumb... everyone knew Pittman was coasting into retirement at Arkansas and wouldn't be here long.
There was never any doubt that Petrino wanted to redeem himself at Arkansas and the only way to do that was at the helm. Back stabbing assumes someone misrepresented their intentions.
Even if he did as dumb OP stated... the years since we fired him have taught us something. Nice guys finish last in the SEC. Integrity starves a program and comes with no medals. The admission price has gone up, but college football has always been for sale.
As long as he can stay out of jail, I hope Bobby comes in with a chip on one shoulder and hell on the other. Ride your motorcycle... and any willing volleyball caoches. I hope for more, "frick you, motherfricker" caught on camera moments.

Also, Pittman told the entire state when he was hired that he would only be here five years anyways. I promise you that Pittman is not mad about not working. I'm sure he's upset about failing, but he was here longer than he initially wanted to be anyways.
