Word in Baton Rouge is that Rees called Kelly first.

Rees wanted out of South Bend, but Kelly wasn't hiring. Rees asked Kelly for his blessing before taking the Bama job. Kelly was initially reluctant to give him his blessing, since he was Bama's 5th or 6th choice.
