Well other than those grasping at straws with the car don't think many believe this is anything more than the transcript problem. And that's the news id like to get.

In two meetings with an NCAA representative in the past few months, including one that took place just last week, Central High football coach Lynord Crutchfield took away a clear message: "They were just saying to let me know they would be watching Memphis," he said, "because Memphis is on their radar."
Crutchfield confirmed on Monday that the NCAA had spoken with him. Three days earlier, news broke that an NCAA inquiry into the transcript of former Wooddale High and current Auburn running back Jovon Robinson resulted in Memphis City Schools saying that a guidance counselor admitted to falsifying it.
Robinson is sitting out practice at Auburn as his academic situation is evaluated, and MCS has said it is investigating the matter.
Crutchfield, a former Wooddale coach, said his meetings weren't a "big deal" and he doesn't expect the NCAA to return. He wouldn't specify what they talked about, leaving it at "just different things in the city, different players in the city, coaches."
Just how wide a net the NCAA is casting in Memphis isn't known. Two other city coaches -- Whitehaven's Rodney Saulsberry and East's Marcus Wimberly -- said Monday they hadn't talked to the NCAA.
Tina Wordlow, Robinson's mother, said Monday that she had received no clarity on the situation facing her son. Auburn coach Gene Chizik said Monday there was no update on Robinson's status, according to a video of an interview posted by The Birmingham News.
Wordlow said an NCAA representative had asked questions of her son last year, before his signing with Auburn, about his trips to 7-on-7 camps. But nothing came of it, she said. "They just let it die," she said.
The area was a fertile ground for college recruiters last year, with 25 players from the metro area signing letters of intent to play at Bowl Subdivision-level schools. Seven players from MCS teams signed with schools from one of the six major conferences.
As for this year's crop of seniors, 18 of Rivals.com's top 25 players from Tennessee are from the Memphis area, including two of Crutchfield's pupils at Central — defensive end Frank Herron, who has committed to LSU, and wide receiver Latevius Rayford, who has committed to Vanderbilt.

Pretty sure he means the city, not the college.

The article makes you allude to that, his exact quotes could mean a few things but more than likely the metro area.
Or we could use occams td razor and choose the most crazy option.

Yes. It is Tennessee's version of Miami, except instead of corrupt school employees, street agents and runners, Memphis is watched for corrupt school employees and family.

Tennstud is living in the wrong decade (a given since he is a dinosaur of a dissociated booster), just like UT. Memphis is NOT the great, fertile recruiting ground it used to be.I mean maybe it is to UT since their instate recruiting talent sucks, which explains why their recruiting budget dwarfs the GDP of some small European countries. Seven players signed with automatic qualifier schools out that area? Whoop dee doo...! Probably only two or three of those players will actually contribute. You can find that in Columbus, Ga or Montgomery, Al. Nobody is breaking down doors to open up Memphis recruiting.

Justin Hokanson, speaking on 97.7 FM, just said he's heard Robinson will most likely get to stay at Auburn but may have to redshirt. Of course, he's close to Auburn and not from a reputable source such as ESPN or the AJC so take it with a grain of salt.
