There are three guidance counselors listed on the guidance counseling page for Wooddale's school website. I wonder if they have removed this one's name and info yet.

It's not inconceivable. People like to help young kids when they can. If this was his only chance to go to college and get a better life and all you had to do was change one little grade, you're saying you wouldn't consider it on your own? You're saying you would have to encouraged or paid to do that for someone?
Yeah, I would have to be paid to commit fraud for a dumbass athlete, you know, since I could lose my job over it and all..

even if AU is clean in all of this, odds are the player will still be ineligible.

I think Tennstud is just bitter that Tennessee sucks so he is probably the one pushing this with the NCAA.
Meh.
As some of the Bama posters have said, this is just UT boosters trying to keep OOS schools out of their turf.
If not for the Albert Means history this story wouldn't be nearly as big as it is. That and you've got a lot of folks chomping at the bit to slam Auburn with something, anything after the whole Cam situation.
Tennessee's current record and difficulties has little to do with it. Tennessee was doing quite well as I recall at the time Bama was investigated for Albert Means. I seem to recall UT needing to win just one more game in 2001 in order to play for the natty.

I can't see him being eligible at this point unless Auburn actually did know about this in January and Jovon sent in the proper transcripts afterwards.
If memory serves me right, Jovon was cleared by the clearing house very, very quickly. It's an interesting situation.

They should have been. They were in the thick of the bidding as well.

Little more info from PM:

We don't know much about the events in Memphis, but here's the best we can do:
* As reported, the guidance counselor at Wooddale High School in Memphis has resigned and admitted creating a false transcript for a student-athlete. All indications are the student-athlete is freshman Auburn running back Jovon Robinson.
* The NCAA visited the school Tuesday.
* At this point, we know of no one who has addressed whether Auburn was implicated in any way.
* Presumably Robinson would be ineligible, though we haven't been given any information on that one way or the other.
* Looking back at this morning's practice, we do not believe Robinson was there. Since we weren't looking for him, we can't say that for sure, but he does not show up in videos or photographs that we have seen

No, because the NCAA investigation found that there was a computer system fault that rounded up the grades for dozens of students, most of whom were not athletes and they decided to not penalize Chapman for it. This is entirely different with a school staff member admiting to cheating and losing their job over it. Huge difference....no way JR is eligible at AU in 2012.

Has anyone verified whether or not Robinson's mom actually put out a missing child report on Jovan when Trooper and Loopa took him to Auburn?

Thanks.
His summary of what has been reported so far actually looks about right.
