But Auburn is in desperation mode and thanks to the last 2 coaching staffs, they are verging on irrelevance with a diminishing brand. They have to make a solid hire this time. Kiffin, Rhule, Fickle are all tied down now and time's running out as the portal & ESD quickly approaches.

What if Freeze gets indicted (granted, a very unlikely possibility) for witness tampering? Auburn won't be able to fire him for cause because they knew. Freeze's contact with the girl had been made public, and she had even written to the Auburn administration. Auburn can't fire him for cause over something they knew before they hired him.
