I thought it would do well to re-post a thread that I made on the SEC Scoreboard a couple of weeks ago. All 34 (soon to be 35) SEC Championship Games are included. It's a shame to see this game go as it featured some of the greatest games in SEC football history.

All the confarence games are about to go and you puros will not like it. The end of CFB and other things as you've always known it.

Isn't everyone excited to go to the 3-4 championship tie breakers?

It's all been downhill since they abandoned New Year's Day.

Super excited to see the SECCG go away so that we can have a playoff game featuring the #17 team in the country versus the #24 team in the country.

Does anyone actually want to play in a conference championship game this year if you're already firmly in the playoff field?

programs will most certainly go the 2003 Ole Miss route and there will be 3-4 teams per year claiming the conference championship

That was how conference championships were awarded pre-SECCG. It was not unusual for multiple teams to have the same record and all win a share of the title.

Alabama has pretty much owned that game. It would be fitting if we won the very last SECCG.

I was at the first. And, was it cold, damp and dreary. Hard to believe now it was at Legion Field.

maybe a dumb question here but has it been officially confirmed by any formal outlet that this is the last one?

Obviously with a 24 team playoff (and 9 league games) the game doens't make sense so everyone jsut assumes it's going away but has it been actually put in print somewhere?
