Their fan base spent 30 years building their entire identity around the past. It's going to take them awhile to shake that.

You ever think the SEC west was terrible in Bamas run the last two years? Get the frick out with that argument.

What is homerish about saying it's harder for LSU to compete now that the SEC is tougher?

What's homerish is for you think we should lower our expectations.

Did Alabama ever lower their expectations? Of course not. So why the frick should we?

The lack of signature wins and dissatisfaction with Miles' results (are lack thereof) seems to support my belief.

Is this not more of a reflection on Miles than LSU?

The 2nd best team in the West the past two years was the Black Bears.

its pretty clear bama fans only love history if its theirs. they dont know jack shite about LSU other than recently we are good and in the 90s we sucked.

all history in football is good for is fricking circle jerking in the offseason.

i can't decide if this is belle or ahm posting.

either way its terrible gump shite to think somehow history is playing into who is winning big games.

its called coaching and that reflects on les not being a legit coach

I'm sorry that you consider that homerish. But with Les Miles vs. the field, it's hard for me to really take LSU seriously. This isn't the same guy who won countless close games in the beginning.

I won't take away LSU's wins or titles, but the changes around the conference have certainly contributed to LSU's fall from winning the west to complaining about the drought.

ETA: Through my life, LSU has only been relevant since post Saban. I just find it funny how they demand a title. The glory years have you guys spoiled.

Just as LSU's rise contributed to Bama's drought and the west sucking in general the past couple years contributed to the national championship. You cant seriously believe some of what you are saying.

I could care less how it looks. It would be a good thing. This recruiting class could be saved if we made a timely, impressive hire.

We could only be so lucky.

yea bc the conditions les was given is the same as all of the past at LSU. get that fricking stupid shite out of here.

once again outside of the 90s we have always been good but that shite doesn't mean a mother fricking thing in the present day. the only thing that matters right now is current coaching, recruiting budget, money being pumped into football and our athletic facilities.

now ever think that maybe LSU plays the toughest team from the west every year might have just a tiny effect on our record? Not to mention in the span that you are talking about we beat UGA twice, UT 3 times, Fl 4 times(ugggh) , and pretty much bitch slapped the rest. Now I remember those 3 East teams were pretty damn good in that span of years.

So if you were an LSU fan, would you be content with 9-3 every year?

Secondly, did you support Shula being fired?

Serious questions, your answers will say a lot.

Against the meh's since 2008: 1-3

Plus the clock debacle. Plus the Tennessee game. Plus the fact that the other lower tier SEC team, he should have lost to in 2009.

Why am I supposed to take this program seriously until they prove they can hire a real coach?

Comparing Shula to a coach who's 58-16 is irresponsible, no matter how goofy Miles is.

Content with 9-3? No. But is a new coach going to take LSU back to the top immediately? If he can't, how long before LSU fans say fire him?
