With Lane Kiffin's portal class what is the base expectation for 2026?

Will anything less than an SEC championship be acceptable?

I was told on here that:

- he won’t leave ole miss
- he won’t go to lsu
- no one was on the plane with him
- he won’t recruit well
- he won’t get any players

I wouldn’t listen to a single prediction from the losers on here

It's a really tough schedule and his first year with the program, but I think anything less than a playoff berth would be a mild disappointment. Offensive line is still my biggest concern.

9-3 would be fine with me in his first year.

What ever they are, they'll be unrealistic.

Anything less than a playoff berth. You know there might be two of those next year, right?

LSU should absolutely push for a playoff spot next season. I don't know if making the jump from losing a bowl game to title contender is realistic in one season, especially given all the new faces, but the talent level alone should be enough to propel them to playoff contender status for sure.

He has his work cut out for him on culture building especially with all the new players. There's going to be at least 60 new faces in the building.

Everything on paper looks like they could, but again, that's on paper.

O-line is still a concern for me.

I'll take some bumps the first year as long as we look competitive.

How is it unrealistiic? The talent that comes in is now year to year. There is no time to build. Every one of those portal signs can be somewhere else next year if they are unhappy for any reason or get a bigger offer elsewhere.

You've clearly missed his threads. Lots of fuzzy math going on.

I'm not trying to put a result on the expectation. I will be looking more into how Lane coaches from the sideline and how fast the coaches can get these guys playing like a team. We are replacing so much. But, this fricker is making it hard for me to temper expectations because he keeps signing big time guys.

This will be the most excitement the program has had in years and CLKs best chance to get players. Anything less than a deep run in the playoffs will be disastrous for LSU long term.
