Will this be one of the weaker years for the SEC West?

What do you think?

Alabama will go undefeated again with the easy schedule they have, and possibly (more than likely) play for the national championship again. Texas A&M would've had a shot, but losing Johnny Manziel will knock them back to Earth. Ole Miss and Auburn are on the rise, but they aren't there year. Arkansas is going to be pretty bad this year. LSU is going to be pretty good, but not the same LSU team we're accustomed to seeing. And Mississippi State will be about as good as they have been in recent years.

IYAM, this will just be a weak year in the SEC West, when referring to the division as a whole.

From 2-7 yes. Bama can still beat anyone in this league until proven otherwise and frick you aTm fans, one win doesn't make you part of the club.

Well, Auburn will increase their win total from 3 to around 7, 8, or 9 (most likely 8 if they win the bowl game).

Therefore, they are on the rise.

They were dead last in the entire conference last year, so they have nowhere to go but up.

I think that what OP meant.

It's certainly not the strongest year. But, to clarify, A&M never had a shot anyway.

It must be close to the start of the season. Optimism is usually at it's highest point.

jesus.. the point of the OP is that we'll be better but aren't contenders... that's pretty much a fact (unless you think we win three games again or less).

Y'all just went 0-fer in the conference last season. My only point was that nothing has changed since because games haven't started yet. So you can't exactly be on the rise when currently sitting on the bottom. However, y'all will most likely win something, but who knows.

ETA: Always have Miss St on the schedule ;)

Possibly. the reason it is an easy schedule is b/c Arky, AU, UT, and MSU are down. In years past Arky has been an 8+ win team. AU has been 9+, and UT has been in the 9+ range. MSU has never really be that strong, but they've had decent records that helped prop up the SOS of the teams that beat them.

All the talk about Bama having an "easy" schedule has more to do with the crap storms at Arky, UT, and (recently any way) AU. It isn't a "ducking" thing as so many have claimed.

Auburn fans, when filling out their expected schedule in the preseason, usually feel very comfortable writing a W next to Arkansas. Judging by your win total you expect the same.

Then, you know, that thing called the game happens.
