As the saying goes, St. Louis is the most eastern western city and KC the most western eastern city.

If OU could steal Lane after this season, that would be a slam dunk of a hire for them. He will have them back in contention in no time.

Due to the lack of "splash" in their initial year in the SEC does OU run the risk being seen in the same light as Mizzou. Like Mizzou, geographically and to some extent culturally, they aren't really a natural fit in the SEC. Yes they have a strong lineage, but it's not a Southern lineage. One has to wonder if given few more years of mediocrity they could become one of the more obscure teams in the super conference.

My whole family in Oklahoma came from Georgia. I have a great-great grandfather who helped create The University of Georgia School of Law in 1859 and served as the Dean for several years.

There are more people with my last name buried in Banks County, Georgia than any place in the U.S.

I have 2 great-great grandfathers buried in Oklahoma with "Confederate Army" engraved on their tombstones. One from the 11th Cavalry out of Georgia, the other from Alabama. I stood at the foot of one of them just last year.

Oklahoma has many roots from the south, and Appalachia. My grandfather (who I remember well) was born in 1889, the same year as the Oklahoma Land Rush. His parents arrived in LeFlore County, Oklahoma from Georgia by horse and carriage. He passed in 1988, just shy of 100 years of age.

I got bad news for OU, good programs like Texas and OU go through 2 or 3 coaches before finding the one like Stoops and Brown
Texas went through 2 and finaly got there guy
OU is about to go through this guy and one more before they get another hitter
Get ready for 5 more seasons like last year.

Sorry, but he's currently busy with an All-Pro NFL career/

No way in hell. OU is a blue blood and will be fine.

And they’re going to be better than you think this year.

Paying players under the table paid off for decades. Now it’s a different game.

These shite heads are not smart. You’d think Missouri was near New Jersey. MO borders 4 SEC states. The southern half of the state is as “southern” as AR, KY or TN. The losers that perpetuate the hate are nothing more than toothless, uneducated swamp rats holding on to an SEC that will never exist again.

Who gives a frick about your “cultural fit” BS. What are you hanging on to in 2025?! The true south SEC is gone, done, over. Is Oregon & Rutgers a good fit in the B10? Who the frick cares! It’s football. Regional & cultural fits are a thing of the past. Love it or hate it, Its time to move on. Go watch your Herschel Walker highlight videos if you want nostalgia.

Your dump state didn’t have the TVs, & still doesn’t in 2025. OU would have only been invited back then if TX made it a package deal.

The 2024 OU schedule was about as tough as an SECW schedule with the exception that Alabama had a down year. Nothing special in regard to difficulty if you use the previous SECW as a benchmark.
