Next year is Les' last year. What if LSU gets a real coach.

What is really sad about the poor OM fans in this thread is that none of them answered the original question. Not even a ; "yes, it's possible". Just a lot of talk about recruiting rankings.

Yes, I do think they finally get to that elusive Chik-Fil-A Bowl in the next decade.

Good luck Rebs!

I doubt it, he's already telling Sexton to get him out of Oxfart. He knows that if he has to recruit that the OM rednecks will tar and feather him when he screws up.........

Had they beaten LSU, which they almost did, you'd be whistling a different tune.

Also, how the hell is MSU on the rise? Had they lost the golden egg bowl, this board would still consider them the same team as Croomses teams. One game and they are all of a sudden 'on the rise'? OK...

They looked forward and prepared for one game all season. Congratulations, the locker room count down clock til the egg bowl was a great motivational tool, Jethro.

And no, we'll never get there. We'll never be able to compete against highly superior talent with the likes of LSU, Alabama, and Auburn. We're still waiting on Peyton and Eli to have a couple of sons to quarterback our team.

They have the same chance as everyone else, unless they don't have money for a ticket.

When you go toe to toe with LSU and Florida and beat your in state rival after being the beating stick of the SECW you are on the rise. As an LSU fan I can say if State had a quarterback they would have beaten LSU.

You're a fricking joke. Of course we have a chance, just like every other team. Will it be tough? absolutely. Look at how the rest of the SEC West has been recruiting and getting better, but then again, Nutt did get Arky there didn't he? I can promise you he will have as much or more talent then he did there. FTBLFN, you are a sorry excuse for a flamer and a fan. I have zero doubt that you just got back from Wal Marks with all your new Bama garb and decided that it was time you became a fan. How is it hanging out with Bama Cowboy all day? Go kill yourself now

If this were a bet and it were my money and I had to pick yes or no straight up, I'd bet no.

Not saying its not possible, just highly unlikely.

This season seemed to be set up for a run to Atlanta for the Rebels, and no joy.

I agree with what you wrote. Last year we had a decent shot, just had a retarded QB decide to show up. It didn't help matters that NOBODY was beating Bama. You will have your shot next year, only problem is you really don't stand much of a chance without defense. We had a good defense, but had offensive problems. Ya'll with have a good offense(probably if you can run the ball), but defense will still be the sore spot. I am all for you getting there, just don't see it happening with Bama around. Like you said, if I HAD to put money on it, I would just because I am a fan, but it would be a small amount

Hootie 101:
If Hootie fails to take Ole Miss to Atlanta, it probably won't be due to the strength in the west. It won't be because of lack of talent. It would more than likely be due to losing to the teams he should beat in the conference during any given season. Hootie's nemesis has always been in teams like Mississippi State, Auburn, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, South Carolina, etc. when they are having a "down" year. He many times loses to these teams even with his best talent. That's the problem. That being said, I won't say that he won't/can't lead Ole Miss to Atlanta. Expect strange things with Hootie.

Arkansas fan #134358475, Same old comments from you. We get it, Nutt will be mediocre. Gotya.

Ole Miss has a problem with losing games we should win. That has been going on a long time before Nutt got here.

The original question was a flame. So I respond by attacking him.

You know, I think the answer is probably no. Schools like Alabama and LSU have resources we aren't even close to. Everything really has to fall into it's right place for us to make a run. It's certainly possible. If Jevan Snead was who we thought he was and Alabama wasn't as great as they were, this year could have been it. You know that saying about my aunt having a penis though?

It's the fun of being an Ole Miss fan. I know we're not a powerhouse, so I get to enjoy the little things a bit more. Not that I wouldn't mind winning a couple of National Titles, we're just a long way away and I'm patient enough to let us build up. I mean, who knows what college football is going to look like in 30 years.

Wrong. (1)We don't have anywhere near that number of fans. Furthermore, (2) I didn't say it wouldn't/couldn't happen. (3) I didn't say Nutt/Ole Miss would be mediocre ...not every season anyway.
