Absolutely not. He is a good defensive coordinator, even if he tanks at SC a major BCS program will pick him up as DC.

I must agree with the critics. That said, he must have learned something at Florida.

For one thing, he learned a a team can't play SEC ball without a quality quarterback. We have McIlwain, Bentley and Nunez and will probably get another highly-rated one before February.

Just this week, he took a outside linebacker from Bama (Nasirildeen) and a defensive lineman from Georgia (Webb).

And there are others who promise to be quality players.

We have the best top-to-bottom coaching staff in my lifetime. Boom is not Spurrier by any means, but we all know what happened last year and, to some degree, the year before.

I did not want Muschamp. I wanted the guy from North Carolina or the one from Houston. But it didn't work out. I also wanted Smart, but the Dawgs did not waste any time pulling the trigger.

So, all in all, with Carolina ranked # 16th this morning in recruiting for 2017 and the emergency signings from this past one, there is some talent. Just not enough. And that blame falls squarely on the best coach Carolina has ever had.

I am not going to let myself get disappointed this season. Bad start and I will start watching Georgia all the time. But if we don't get a decent bowl next year, it's time for Hootie--not the one of Blowfish fame--to get the money together and run Boom's arse off. Carolina can't mess around anymore and expect to be competitive. Boom gets two years. The 6-6 mantra does not hold true in Columbia anymore. Spurrier changed that.

This board's obsession with shitting on Muschamp doesn't make sense to me.

I won't be surprised at all if he makes SCAR half-decent.

I don't think anyone is really focusing on what record he'll have. I'm just waiting for him to pull a Bobby Knight.

Even if you think Muschamp doesn't pan out at USCe, you would have to be an idiot to believe he would be in D2 in three years.

WTF? Muschamp is finally at a respectable school and he gets shite upon. Goddamn fickle crowd. SC is good people and they'll do alright with the wild man. Muschamp could have done much worse like landing at misssooo. Now that would have been a laffer.

Unless SC is just atrocious for the next 2 seasons, I think they will give him time to build the program back.

only way I see it even being possible is if he finally flipped and hit someone or blew a gasket and had to lower the pressure for his health.

So Auburn finished 71st in the nation (almost last in the SEC) in total defense, but Muschamp is a good coordinator?

Much amp will turn around the SC defense...he will go about 8-4 every year...and when our hick moron AD Jay Jacobs is finally forced to fire Malzahn, Muschamp will be the HC at Auburn.

To me hiring Muschamp as HC is no standard. He failed in a better situation in the same division. No school would keep a coach for losing every year but he will not be held to a normal standard at USC. 6-6 every year would get him Atleast 5 years there.

No it wouldn't... There's no way Muschamp survives an entire class coming and going with a record of 6-6 every year. There needs to be some sign of improvement by year 3 (Muschamp has earlier personal expectations), but I'm not expecting any serious improvement until year 3.
