Nope. They will forever be a year off. Hard to build a championship team when you flip your program every 2 years. Too many guys leave early, too many coaches leave, every year.

Winning NFL QBs do that all the time. Burrow played 2019 at an NFL level. He was throwing to spots with timing and trust with great athletes.

The receiver knows when and where the ball is coming.

Having spent time with several NFL QBs... open in the NFL is the length of a forearm or a hand. In college it is often a step..

He is a great recruiter but he still has some learning to do coaching wise. He can buy all the top recruits he want but he can’t buy a national championship. It’s time for him to put on his big boy pants and see what he is made of. Inbeforegeorgialasttitlewasin1980

You sound worried.

He's at one of the short listed schools that have all the resources necessary to win a championship.

Doesn't mean he will, but there's no institutional reason why he can't. A lot of good things have to come together, though, to make it happen.

You left out his worst act of all.

Buttfricking a dynasty so bad that it leaves it’s geriatric has-been coach and glass made bitch QB both with shattered hips.

I agree with you. Too many college qb's are taught to throw to a spot or an area. Burrow was throwing guys open.

Great qb's on an SEC team or at OSU have a much better chance of winning a title.

Uga will be put under probation before they win a title.
If they don't get caught for cheating, they could win one with a Joe Brady type hire

Are you blind . They were clearly better than Clemson and light years better than UGA. They just had every bad call and break go against them in the semi final. Every sane fan in CFB knows they were absolutely the better team; it wasn’t close. The game against LSU would have been an absolute classic.

Damn I forgot that Ohio State and Clemson settled the debate over who was better last season by actually playing one another and Ohio State came out on top, clearly better than Auburn with a lake.

That being the case I retract my former statement...Kirby Smart is a hack and should be fired immediately because every sane fan in CFB knows that those numbers on the scoreboard at the end of the game are meaningless and what matters is what fans want to believe is true,

Smart is unfortunately caught up in a different era when the numbers mattered and therefore pays too much attention trying to ensure his sides number is higher than the other sides to the degradation of what really matters, namely the fevered notions of a bunch of “sane CFB fans”

UGA lost in OT to USC, inexplicably......Maryland lost to Ohio state in OT.....inexplicably playing Ohio State to a draw is n regulation. Without OT, in regulation, Ohio state and UGA would have had exactly the same record.

USC has every right to be happy about their OT win....they were the dog and on the road....had UGA won it’d been nice but it wouldn’t have meant that UGA was any better or worse because they beat a team they should have beat....exactly what osu did.....in both cases though the team that, on paper, was favored, played a dog to a draw in regulation......one game the dog won and rightfully celebrated besting a rival on the road....in the other the dog lost as it should’ve done in regulation not indicating anything more than questions about the favorite. At any rate the CFB world agrees.... UGA and OSU had near identical seasons and finished 4&3 respectively.....the difference being an OT loss and an OT win to dogs in both cases.....pretty slim difference

And here we go again.

WTF is it with LSU inbreds and their UGA obsession? God almighty, you folks act like you're Bama or USC. Congrats on getting Joe Brady and getting Burrow to transfer. They're gone,it's over. Now go back to losing to Bama every year and cheering for them to lose in another playoff game.

Once Saban retires I think several sec schools will feel a sigh of relief
I really think uga fla has the potential to be the same as the bama LSU game in the east
Uga is missing a really good window because I think tenn will get better and better too

He just needs the stars to align and somehow avoid an SEC West asskicking at least one game a year, which has become a Kirby tradition

If the stars align, a big if but there’s a lot of luck to winning a national title unless sabans you’re coach, as long as the Annual SEC West Smacking of UGAs arse is kept within the confines of the regular season even that ain’t enough to keep us from the highest holy....with the playoff system the numbers of teams with a realistic shot at a title is small....maybe 30 teams? UGA will be in the top 7-8 of that number just about every season meaning the stars are already aligned to a point....

He's needed some luck as well. A LOT of things have to bounce your way to win it all, especially for an SEC. Not so much in the "lesser" conferences.

I'd say half that many. I don't remember the numbers, but the only teams who have won the NC in recent history have all been top-10 to 15 in recruiting as well.
