He is a great recruiter but he still has some learning to do coaching wise. He can buy all the top recruits he want but he can’t buy a national championship. It’s time for him to put on his big boy pants and see what he is made of. Inbeforegeorgialasttitlewasin1980

Not unless he changes his 1990 style offense.

He is trying to run what Bama did in the early Saban years with a game manager as quarterback.

If he delegates out the X's and O's and just focuses on recruiting, maybe. As he runs his program currently, no.

He may and he may not but in the SEC there are only 2 programs who wouldn’t swap in a heartbeat and LSU would have season before this past one. Smart has some learning to do yes but he has done a pretty damn good job thus far. He’s still young.....could be around a long time and the longer he’s around the more likely a recruiter will eventually get the pieces to fall in place.

I like coach O and really like the fact that he learned a lot from early mistakes....it ain’t easy to do ...and he is a helluva coach.....there is no evidence to suggest Smart is unable to adjust YET.....now if we are still running between the tackles and not throwing the ball dwonfield in 3 years, yeah, he’s a bust at evolving......that doesn’t mean he doesn’t win a title it only means the odds will decrease greatly.....but he ain’t there yet

Yes. He is Mack Brown 2.0. He recruits so well in a loaded state. He will eventually have a team in the right year.

Yes he will, he is 1 slightly above average offense coordinator away. Too much talent on team . Will all fall in place soon , unfortunately for the rest of us..

Did he have any choice this season? No receivers and a QB that regressed.....and still had about as good a season as anyone in the nation with the exception of LSU and Clemson....and us playing Clemson would’ve been interesting.....LSU made us look about as inept as they did just about everybody.

The knock of course is he “let” fields walk.....but Ohio State didn’t have a better season than UGA except they didn’t have the opportunity to get curb stomped by LSU....had Fields been the starter we probably beat USC but LSU? Please....it might have been slightly closer but what does that mean? Maybe we make the playoff with one close loss to LSU but that would’ve only meant we’d have to beat LSU to have had a better season.....and again, what on earth, in retrospect, makes anybody think LSU loses that game?

He will always have great defenses. If he can find a good offensive mind coach to go with a playmaker at quarterback, Georgia will be dangerous.

Georgia IS dangerous to everyone with LSU being the exception. Those last 2 rapings were U.G.L.Y.!!
