A&M has been the top dog over Texas for damn near a decade. Why didn’t you include that in your OP?

Dumb cuck.

Auburn beat BAMA 6 years in a row and was the better more consistent program from 1980-2007 then Saban. When Saban leaves it will flip back to Auburn.

You should climb to the peak of Mount Delusional and piss your name in the snow.

A&M joining the SEC was the beginning of the end of Texas dominance over A&M. I consider A&M the flagship University of the State of Texas now.

Those 6 years Alabama had sanctions. So it actually flipped back to normal after the sanctions. It would be more lopsided towards Bama had the 40 year hiatus not happened.

Well Let's start with an easy one.

List all the SEC west, SEC championships and national titles Auburn had in the 90's

Then list Alabama's. Then you can slink away in defeat.

Michigan State has been more consistent lately then Michigan.

Stanford has been the best Cal program as of recently.

No. Auburn has been the better team in the '50's, 80's, and '00's. (I wouldn't include the 90's in your scenario, when Auburn only managed to go 3-7.)

The three streaks in those dominant periods (5 in a row in the 50's, 6 0f 8 in the 80's, and 7 of 8 in the '00's) account for exactly half of Auburn's wins in the series.

Historically, Auburn's periods of dominance last 5-8 years and occur an average of 17 years apart.

I’ve got to give it up to Auburn. Despite being little brother to the biggest dog in the sport both currently and historically, they have convinced themselves that they are actually the better program, and not just in the usual little brother “Y’all may be better at football but we are better people,” level. They legitimately believe that they are a better football program than Alabama. Not even A&M is that crazy. It’s a level of self-delusion that both baffles and impresses me.

...I mean honestly, think about that for a second. “Alabama may have more conference wins, conference championships, national championships, overall wins, bowl appearances, bowl wins, and lead the series against us by a significant margin, but dammit, once they get ole Saban out of there, we will resume our place as rightful alpha dog of the state.” I just can’t comprehend that thought process. It’s the same as I would imagine a beta in prison might think to make himself feel better. “Once this guy stops raping me, I am going to whip his fricking arse.”

South Carolina already did under Spurrier

Michigan State has made the playoffs. Michigan hasn't.
