Curious what The Rant thinks the chances are that he takes over in Norman.

No chance as long as Danny white is our AD. Don’t get your hopes up like you did for Vitello

I don't see that happening but I wish him nothing but success outside of this weekend and other times we play him.

Why fire a guy who can't win the SEC to hire another guy who can't win the SEC?

We can hang with nearly anybody money wise. Wishful thinking on your part. Brian Kelly might be available soon

I don't think so. Remember Heupal was scapegoated and fired from OU when he was OC. He ended up at Utah State. Barry Odom revived his career when he asked him to come to Mizzou as OC.

They screwed him bad, who knows where he is today if Odom doesn't call.

Man this topic will never go away. The answer is….NEVER! Heupel is building something sustainable at Tennessee. He’s home.

I do remember that now that you mention it. Y’all may be able to hire Beamer as a replacement.

Heupel has at UT:

1. A school that can match or beat any offer.
2. An AD, a university president, and a chancellor who all have his back.
3. One of the top NIL collectives in the nation.
4. Athletic facilities that are upgraded on a regular basis.
5. A rabid fan base who love him.
6. Several billionaire boosters, and Danny White to collect the money while keeping them at bay.

What Heupel does not have at UT.

1. Bob Stoops lurking around.

Guess all those reasons are why you haven’t won much since the 90s.

That bridge was burned a long time ago, IIRC. It was an ugly breakup when Bob Stoops fired him.

What are the chances that Kelly is pulling a Sandusky in the locker room?

Easy to be out of the loop on programs that haven’t won big games in over 20 years.

Well, everyone has already mentioned the bad ending his last time there.

That said, if he was actually doing legit well, and they got rid of Venebles, I could see Oklahoma bending the knee a bit. Time and money can sometimes provide miracle cures for a bruised ego.

Overall: Very low chance, 10%. And based on his current resume, I doubt they would do it even if they were on the best of terms.
