I'll ask one more time then:
Do your 5's matter when they can't beat our 3's?

Just imagine how bad Arky would whoop that arse if we had 5 star talent across the board?
I mean, we would then have the talents of an LSU, and our players would then be capable of such extraordinary feats like the no-look over-the-head bounce pass fake field goal. Yeah, that's what we need to succeed like LSU!

That was one of the luckiest bounces I have ever seen...........

This thread needs Crow Pie and secfan+numbers to remind us all of Arkansas' bowl history and top ten finishes.
ETA: Heck maybe Ramah59 can show up and tell us that preseason polls are always accurate indicators of how good a team is, or that conference standings are determined by the alphabet.

They practiced the end of the Tennessee game and executed it to perfection! Rivals is an exact science, and I wish Petrino could recruit that kind of talent.

Petrino has done a good job of filling needs with the best talent to fit his system. I would not trade any of our returning d-linemen for any of the 5 star studs at Bama or LSU this year.
I would not trade Brandon Allen for Frazier.
I would like to have some of those cornerbacks that LSU gets every year that lookm like NFL safties.
I hear we are still in the hunt for Doral Green-Beckham, maybe 2012 will be our year.

you dont need me becuase you know the only thing you have is the future.
I wake up each day, and thank my Higher Power we were lucky enough to pick up 8 bowl wins, 3 SEC Championships, 4 BCS Wins and two National Titles since Y2K now that Arkansas will be the dominate SEC Flagship from next year forward.
Whew we just barely got our bizness done in time

It's almost like you search for your name every couple of minutes just to see if someone is talking about you. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

The star rating system is not very reliable at all, per se, when evaluating talent for specific positions/needs for specific teams. Coaches have to consider many more variables than what these services provide.
Projections re: specific team "chemistry", i.e. potential synergistic and/or positive/negative effects of adding a specific recruit/s has to be entered into the overall equation.
Any competent coaches are aware of this, and it has much less to do with "star ratings" than most people realize.
It's not a simple process.

Not to derail this epic thread but I was reading an interview just now from media day this morning and though this was pretty humorous. I wonder if Brandon got the meaning of the question.
quote:
I asked Brandon Mitchell if he knew all of the plays in the play book. He said that he knew all of the three hundred or so but he focuses on ones that most apply to him. I said, "So there are over three hundred plays?" He said, "yes." I said, "Okay, tell me what play number 36 is."

this whole "star rating system" argument is baseless.

How did Petrino's Louisville classes do when they were re-ranked after completing their eligibility?

Do you think Les Miles would give you a big "well thank you Crow Pie" if you were to suggest that he dump all that data into his present team's bag of tricks, because you think it's significant?
