Seems like Hog fans are reverting back to the old "there's nothing to gain" excuse.

Hogville

quote:

Broyles wasn’t scared. He just knew like most people that there was “nothing to gain from it and everything to lose.”

quote:

He knew for the smaller system schools they would treat the game like the super bowl x 20 and there is no way the intensity would be matched.

quote:

what does the UofA have to gain? i will wait.

quote:

Right now the UofA has 99.9% of the Arkansas fan base there is literally no going up from their current position so doing anything that might turn a UofA fan into a UALR fan is not good for the UofA.

quote:

Yep, absolutely nothing to gain. If we win, nothing said. We lost, and if not for the coaching search, would have been all they talked about on the radio today.

Meanwhile the true college baseball bluebloods like the Florida's, LSU's, Mississippi State's, South Carolina's, and Vanderbilt's of the world aren't afraid and too insecure to schedule in-state schools.

You're supposed to be the flagship. What gives?

Every fan's excuse for their largest message board contingent.

I'll take that as a "yes, we will revert back to our insecure ways" from you.

So far the yeses have it.

Anybody else care to pipe in?

Why would anyone care about playing instate schools in a sport like baseball?

We lost to Southern Mississippi this year. Hell they swept us last year

It's not like football or even men's basketball to some extent that a regular season game is bragged about.

It's all about what you do in the postseason.

LSU fans so mad to create alters after they started #1 and got booted from the tournament. They know Arkansas is Daddy, that's why OP posted about Arkansas on a "LSU Board". Simply a cry for attention.

100% agree.

However, Arkansas seems to have little peen syndrome when it comes to in-state schools.

Terrified of losing fans if/when they lose to them.

I posted on our board that shite happens and it's not a huge deal. shite LSU lost to Troy, no one talks about that. shite happens and fans can be dramatic.

If Lsu can lose 2 or 3 games to in state schools every year then I think Arkansas can just this once.

LSU has been at the cutting-edge of losing to in-state schools baw. LSU started doing it before it was cool to do it.

Difference is LSU, Florida, Mississippi State, and the majority of the SEC isn’t afraid of losing fans to in-state schools. Where it took Arkansas over 60+ years to get over their insecurities.

I actually don't care whether we schedule in-state schools or not.

A better question is, why does an LSU fan care????

Same reason they ran from the Longhorn's too. No stomach for competition.
