does everything have to be scrutinized instead of just being enjoyed as entertainment?

I’m sure someone will. I won’t.
I can’t remember the last time I paid attention ANY Superbowl halftime show. I guess Springsteen in 2009 since I was there.

If this is a family friendly show, how will kid rock be able to perform in it? Doesn’t he swear a lot in his music?

It is always good to have options.

Yes. The “Bad Bunny” halftime show will be far from family friendly. Unless you want your kids to watch a homosexual Latin “rapper” dress up like a female and sing gibberish

No...culture wars are dumb and this is perhaps the dumbest of them all.

100%, got land, animals, and 6 kids. If I'm not at work or hunting then I'm running to a school event, coaching one of my kids teams, etc.

Yes, it’s ratings will probably be substantial

Since when have you had “options” other than: watch & don’t watch?
Posted on 2/5/26 at 11:30 am to mtb010
I don’t even tune in to watch those “must see commercials”.

Absolutely agree about finally getting some alternative music in there.
Kid rock is “alternative” now
Super Bowl half time shows have always been a joke.
The only good ones I can recall in the entire history were Prince, Stevie Wonder + Gloria Estefan in Miami, MJ, and maybe Bruno Mars I guess.
That’s 4 decent shows in 30+ years lol.
Out of those, Prince is probably the only one I’d be interested in watching a second time. There are 100s of music events every year better than the Super Bowl + at least a handful of better televised ones as well.

Well, he isn't classic or traditional rock. He isn't rap or hip hop. He does some country stuff now. But, what would you consider his early stuff?
Posted on 2/5/26 at 11:42 am to TigerLunatik
Early stuff I suppose you could call “alt country” / hip hop (I always referred to country rap as “crap” personally).
But that’s really only because of like two songs.
The vast majority of his discog is literally just (bad) southern rock.
