The most encouraging news for Texas A&M on Sunday wasn’t the Aggies' rise to No. 7 in the AP Top 25.
It was the unranked state of every other team remaining on the schedule. Auburn and Tennessee dropped from the AP Top 25.

The College Football Playoff speculation that bubbled up after A&M (3-1) got its first win at Mississippi State on Saturday got a little more plausible. Imagine the Aggies running the table in the regular season and finishing 9-1

A&M is not running the table. Hell they might not even beat arkansas let alone Auburn and LSU

Bama dashed that dream already with an exclamation point.

Being ranked 7th at some point in the season may actually qualify them in aggie rules

I love this. Aggy banking on the only team standing in their way before playing ranked teams is unranked teams. For the NC no less.

Aggie will never win an SEC title much less a Natty. Gotta piss Aggie off when my Tigers can win one with a shrimp boat captain and he is paying a bazillion dollars for his head coach.

Not likely.

Will Arkansas? You've already been eliminated from consideration after only 3 games.

How much is Arkansas paying their coach? What year is their coach into rebuilding the program?

A&M doesn’t belong in the CFP. In the wildest of wild scenarios if they did get in as a #4 seed, they would get boat-raced by Clemson or whoever. The gap after Bama, Clemson, OSU and the next best team is huge. In ‘19 LSU was on a different level than OU...what was it 42-7 at halftime?

Now what could be more realistic and I hope for is that A&M likely drops another game somewhere and UT picks it up and we can match up in the cotton bowl. I’d love to see this game resume.

I believe this is year 9 on their rebuild. 4th coach. Maybe they should pony up some money to get someone good.

I don’t really disagree with much of what you said. I think there is a clear top 3. I think there is a big mess after that between around 10 teams with A&M being one of them. I think 8-2 is most likely and we’ll get a NY6 bowl. I’ll be satisfied with that this year.
