I don't know that I've ever seen 2 teams so completely dominate the SEC the way Bama and LSU did. And, LSU had bad QB play. Was everyone else just down? Was it a convergence of events? How did these 2 teams blow out the competition week in and week out in the toughest conference in the land?

With great OLine/DLine play, size, strength, speed, and a powerful running game, is this the new formula? Is this how you win in college football? Has the Spread Offense run it's course and we are back to fundamentals?

Just wondering if Bama/LSU's dominance last year has other teams altering their approach?

Defense wins championships! And when you run the ball you control the clock... Thus keeping your defense fresh! Little Nicky and lesticles understand this

Painful memories for you, I know.

But, it is a serious question. Spurrier changed the SEC in the 90's and the Spread affected everything the past 10 years. Saban & Miles' approach has those 2 programs winning 85% of the time. Will others try and adapt, or keep doing what they are doing?

Bama has been running the same 'formula' since the 30s. Most times it works, sometimes it doesn't.

You think Bama and LSU having a good year is gonna make other seasoned coaches rethink their philosophies? Seriously?

I doubt any coach worth a shite is thinking to himself 'if only I could be a coach like Les Miles.'

I don't mean that running fast, blocking, and tackling are new. I just mean that Bama and LSU are obviously playing football differently than everyone else. It is old school, but REALLY fast, controlling the ball, and using defense almost like it is offense.

They're not 'playing football differently' they just have better players than everyone else.

That is probably what Petrino was thinking after the Thanksgiving beat down this past year. He sure was mad.

Arkansas needs a better defense and running game.

Was? He still is mad based on his comments last week in West Memphis.
