Why was Hugh Freeze successful at Ole Miss but not at Auburn?

I figured he was going to be successful with better players at Auburn but did he not fit in the new NIL era?

He can come back to Ole Miss when Kiffin leaves.

I dunno what you’re talking about man.
Kiffin is the only coach to ever win at Ole Miss according to the homosexuals in Gainesville.

True answer:

OM was his dream job and he coached it with everything he had. Auburn was just a chance to get back into the SEC - but it was clear he had lost the passion

For all the shite talking about how the NIL was going to hurt the blue bloods, it in reality has hurt schools like Auburn.

They may cite their good #6 class from last year, but that was based on the number of recruits they took in, not the quality. Their average was closer to 14th or so.

I'm not sure why, I think it's an ongoing investigation.

Higher expectations at Auburn.

No NIL when he was @ Mississippi

Batesville Tire Man made recruiting easy.

Escort services blocked his number.

The NIL competition evened out. Freeze was an expert in the Pre NIL era at getting talent.

But his poor coaching signs were there. He went 5-7 after starting in the top 10 in 2016, lost to unranked Arkansas at home when the sec title was on the line, and lost to Memphis after getting past Bama.

He was never an elite coach but he baptized lots of fans into thinking he was.

Talent was not the issue, for the people saying "he had better talent at OM."

I think it's a combination of things:

1) Defenses have caught up to the RPO and Freeze didn't seem to evolve compared to what he ran 10 years ago. The RPO is fine, but I think DC's caught onto how Freeze called it.

2) At Ole Miss he ran a lot of tempo, but hardly ever did at AU.

3) He had his QB's do a lot of play checking/audibling prior to plays and they seemed confused. He tried too hard to call the perfect play. Sometimes it's best just to line up and run the damn play without over thinking it.

4) He missed on QB's, though honestly I don't think he missed as bad as people think. I think he just didn't teach them very well. This is evident by the fact that the week after he was fired, the backup QB came in and had the best night an AU QB has had in a decade. This is the same QB who utterly sucked against a much worse KY team just one week prior (when Freeze was calling the plays).

5) He didn't seem like he wanted to be there. He told someone not long after he was hired that he "made a mistake" because the SEC had changed so much and he didn't like the direction CFB was heading. He even hinted at this during pressers. I remember one time he said "I could have stayed at Liberty and won 8 games." I thought it was a weird comment to make publicly.

Cant put hookers in an NIL contract.

Not in Alabama anyway.

Freeze should be angling for the UNLV job.

What did Freeze win at Ole Miss.
Did he even make it to ATL after all of the cheating and prostitutes.

I think you could name about 10 different things to explain it but tbh the simplest answer is the most likely: he lost passion for it.
OM was his dream job and he threw that all away because he’s a full on retard. Accepted the auburn job to get back to the premier conference but he realized the pressure cooker that is the SEC wasn’t worth it he wasn’t at his dream job.

Just my opinion

If you gave Auburn Bo Wallace and Chad Kelly and gave Ole Miss Payton Thorne and Jackson Arnold, how do you think it’d have turned out?

Yep Freeze was just taking advantage of no NIL at the time.

While at Ole Miss, he wasn’t overcome by syphilis.
