I had a beer or 12 with some Nebraska fans at a bar one time and they told me all sorts of great rumors about the Husker program. One was that Bo Pelini would get shitfaced drunk at bbqs and bitch about the boosters and fans. Another one was that he would lie to boosters about needing an airplane to go recruiting. They would take the plane to Vegas and have a weekend on the strip. Then come back and tell the boosters they went to Bishop Gorman High school but couldn’t get the kid to sign.

Solich was let go bc of rumors he had gotten a cheerleader pregnant and there was about to be some shite hitting the fan as a result.
Pelini was not “Nebraska nice” and the admins and boosters felt they needed someone who would represent Nebraska the way that Osborne carried himself. That is why they got Riley who was the complete opposite of Pelini.

Had nothing to do with on the field stuff. He was too emotional and had to work with and had multiple outburst that left really bad looks

Bo Pelini is now an FCS coach. And he only hasn’t been fired at YSU because Jim Tressel doesn’t want to fire a guy who he hired. Heck, Pelini’s predecessor at YSU had a better record than Pelini does, and Tressel fired him.
Frank Solich could only get the Ohio job after being fired. He’s done good at Ohio, but not great. I mean, he’s never won the MAC or finished with less than 4 losses. In 15 years there.
Nothing about Solich or Pelini suggests that they’re even Iowa State level coaches, let alone Nebraska level.

Pelini is 33-28 at YSU, 18-22 in the MVC.
His predecessor Eric Wolford got fired after going 31-26 overall, 18-22 in the MVC.
It’s pretty clear that Jim Tressel prefers Pelini over Wolford just because he hired Pelini.
