My hope is that this won't become a huge trolling thing where people are referred to as brothers and people talk about paying players

It's more a dig at Auburn, They try not to acknowledge it as being important, but it is. Just a different type of Rivalry
Like Auburn fans don't do this with Georgia.

Older Bama fans and the ones that live in the northern part of the state generally look at UT as the #1 rival. The others generally look at AU as the #1 rival.
A siginificant portion of AU students and alum come from Georgia, and a lot of them (myself included) look at UGA as the #1 rival. However, the vast majority of Auburn fans see Bama as the #1.

I don't know any, and again am not saying they don't exist. They are welcome to proclaim it. Do you feel that way?

Just saw that. Glad you feel that way.
Back on topic, what are the most significant games in the UT/UA rivalry?

Well, yeah? In-state rivals and all

Personally, I think the Iron Bowl is a bigger game and the big rivalry. Saying that, I do hate UT much more than AU. Auburn is sort of like my one cousin, he's a complete dick that I can barely stand, but we are related and in the end the family wouldn't be the same without him. UT on the other hand is like the a-hole neighbor that you can't stand in any way shape of form. This is the guy that you wish his house would burn down so he would get the hell out of your neighborhood.

They do.
And to defend my statement, Bama fans constantly try and belittle Auburn to make themselves feel better. You will constantly hear them state, Auburn fans only care about one thing, Bama, and they are not even our no. 1 rival, UT is. Which is their dig to try and belittle Auburn and make them seem insignifigant. Their rivalry is more about the great matchups they have had throughout history, similar to the budding rivalry with LSU, but with much more time and great matchups to evolve it.

I like the way you put that. I imagine many feel that way.

I think it depends on where you live and what fans you have to tolerate the most. Also if you commence to beating someone every year, like UT with UK or Vandy, it diminishes the rivalry even if the school/ fans are in close proximity.
