I understand history and all but people in my age group (those in their 20's and 30's) don't get the "respect" factor.

I don't see why they are such a big deal.

Honest question. History can only take you so far.

Tennessee is an afterthought in today's college football landscape. And frankly they are an afterthought in every sport outside of women's basketball.

I don't believe that. You guys can barely handle Gainesville every other year.

History basically, if we don't make some serious noise this year, our standing in conference will slide further back.

Things can change rather quickly for teams with history!

-One of the biggest stadiums in college football
-Rich in history and traditions like vol navy or the T intro.
-flagship university for a great southern state
-They make florida fans happy
- They rock the ugliest color ever known to man-kind.

You really are showing your age. While they have been down for a dozen years, if you go back to the other 90%, you'll find that they were a force in the south. Tennessee's tradition is 2nd only to Alabama's in the SEC and the old Southern Conference. The older you get, the deeper your appreciation of history will be...I guarantee it!

They used to be the 2nd best SEC team. Won some titles back in the 30s through the 50s, back before integration.

I haven't heard anyone talking about their importance in any sport in a while.

At least since Coach Summit retired..

I only have my own age to show, unfortunately.

I see Tennessee as a has-been.

That is all I know.

I know they were "once" great, but maybe it is time to move on.

My grandfather thought alot about Fulmer however. I don't really remember him as a coach.

I know they hired Dooley from UGA and everything went South after that.

Don't worry. We're finally fixing all of that self-inflicted damage. You'll understand why Tennessee is important very soon.

Until they move Auburn to the East, we got no one else to talk about
