I know they have not won a college World Series but have been a runner up twice and made the CWS 6 times since 2010. You would think with the success they have had the fans would go out and support the team. Any Gator fans care to address this issue? I mean the turnout for their super regional was terrible.

Spoken like a "true" Missouri fan.

Lot of things to do in Florida. I'm a fan and go to the games but I can see why others pass and venture out of Gainesville.

I don't think this thread is "calling them out". I think he's just wondering why there is such a disparity in fan support for the 2 programs in the CWS finals.

It's a legit question imo.

This isn't LSU calling out UF for canceling a game on a bogus weather concern while their 4 best D-linemen were out with injury, then wanting a rematch when they were healthy.

This is more a question of why UF fans aren't even showing up to support their own team. It truly is puzzling.

The closest pro baseball team is the Tampa Rays and fans don't go to their games either.

The New Orleans Pelicans would like to remind you that Wednesday is pot-calling-the-kettle-black day...

I'm not sure there is any one answer. I think the facility does play a part, it's the worst at UF and it can get unbearably hot. Other baseball options probably play a role as well. Two MLB teams, 14 minor league teams plus 15 teams here for Spring Training in the early part of the year.

That said, UF is still in the top 15 in attendance. May be a topic worth revisiting when the stadium renovations are completed.

LSU is the only school in the country that obsesses about college baseball. I mean, that's cool, but it's true.

Brantley, Ivie, Sherit, and Cox were injured at the time of the scheduled game. Looking at the stats, only Cox didn't make the rescheduled game.

Not counting schools like Cal St. Fullerton or Long Beach State obviously.

Hopefully this was hyperbole.

Last I checked there is no pro baseball team in Gainesville. This and the Marlins and Rays have horrible support. Just curious why the support for their great teams are terrible. Not calling anyone out. Just want Gator fans to chime in.
