Why is Mississippi State mostly left out of Cam Newton discussions?

ATPB got the hype, but:
ATCBB?
Did the NCAA release a report on its investigation into MSU athletics?
quote:
former Mississippi State player Kenny Rogers, sought money in exchange for Cam Newton's commitment to Mississippi State
quote:
Rogers sought between $120,000 and $180,000 for Cam Newton to sign with Mississippi State.

Because he didn't go to MSU

You're definitely onto something here.

Because they finished second. Just like Tennessee finished second for Albert Means.

This will not go how you want it to.

I don't have an angle. I'm genuinely curious how MSU was basically a footnote in the story when their booster admitted to offering money

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, you give Weagle a bad name.

Because everybody knows Auburn is dirty as all get out.
Therefore, they get all the attention for SCam. Had they hired somebody less sleazy and more like able than Malzahn, things may have changed.

It's like if Guy AU pays a bigger bribe to a politician than Guy B offered. Did Guy B really bribe the politician at all.

Our booster didn't offer money. Cecil and Kenny told him it was gonna cost 180K to get Cam to sign with MSU. Cam really liked MSU and wanted to go to MSU so they were offering us a 20k discount for his services over the offer they had given other schools. Our booster told John Bond about it and John Bond went to the MSU powers that be and that's that. Cecil is a lying sob of a preacherman that pimped his son out. Congrats to Auburn for being the winning bidder. It was worth every penny.

Moo State is really a bastion of morality. Keep recruiting Cam even after his dad ask for money and only turn it in after he signs with Auburn.
Of course, I realize that teams that win like Auburn will always receive more scrutiny than teams that don't like State. You might be #1 today, but nobody outside your own fan base thinks your success is going to last

But State recruited him for six weeks after a payment of six digits was asked from them by one of their former players. I have never understood how State didn't get more scrutiny about this.
