I don’t think it’s fair they are the fans who can bring noise makers and everybody else in the conference can’t. I would love for 102,000 lsu fans ringing the shite out of them cowbells against miss st on Saturday.

SEC feels sorry for them because their stadium would sound like a church without them

I had a buddy of mine (state fan) tell me it became tradition after a cow walked by while playing ole miss in some pasture? "the good luck cow" It was a really bad story, sad!

The cowbells are multi use. They double as artificial noisemakers during football season and jewelry for their women during the off season.

I think every school that plays them should ring cowbells as well that week thus making them pointless/disadvantaged

Crap, can you imagine giving 100,000 Aggies cowbells to ring? You wouldn't be able to hear yourself think.

Because they are the most worthless school in the conference so they get something to feel unique and special.

I think it has something to do with evolution. Most semi-developed people have moved on from metal bells and banging other metal objects together to make noise.

Pretty sure the cowbell has some mystique aura surrounding it in that part of Mississippi while the rest of the world uses them to locate cattle and horses in thick brush.
