Did my masters from that school and have fond memories. They are horrendous at football and can barely fill up the stadium when I went there. It seems they have all the recipe needed to be successful at football. They are in talent rich state (DC, Prince George County, and Baltimore). They have a huge market audience in the DMV area as the only big state school there. In the DMV, you have Georgetown, GWU, Mason and none are in P5. They have a wealthy alumni base and tons of rich boosters. I know they don’t have the culture, but it’s something they can build on as the infrastructure is there. Imagine if they actually utilized the talent. They are an embarrassment week in and week out. They gave up the heart breaking lead to OSU this week and don’t remind me of their embarrassing blowout to Penn State.

My wife went to Maryland. I’d love for them to be good. Probably should have stayed in the ACC

90% of the 4 and 5 stars from the DMV go elsewhere - to OSU, Clemson and SEC

DMV area is in the mostly NFL mode. You will see bars in Baltimore, DC, NoVA and even the burbs rile up for Sunday (Monday and Thursday too) and get quiet on Saturdays.
College Park is a dump. Simply put...not a college football type of a place or school. It's not in the culture!

There once was a time when they weren’t.

They care more for pro sports than college.
