Will you people find a different troll issue. LSU athletic department is not suffering money problems. You people claim to be so smart but you can't see obvious political posturing. The "money problem" is a political football (not pun intended), not a real issue.

Why does A&M keep Sumlin?

NYC Auburn, Kevin Sumlin isn't going anywhere, for a number of reasons.

Texas A&M is probably the most conservative public university in the United States.

Unlike Auburn, we do not change coaches like we change underware. Never have.

Does F. King not realize this when he's poor mouthing and making threats of closure and huge staff layoffs to every media outlet that will listen to him?

He was threatening bankruptcy this same time last year. Now he's threatening that half the football team could be ineligible if they cancel summer classes. WTF?

No one can say without a large degree of uncertainty what F. King's true motives are. The only thing people know for certain is that everything LSU does is very, very politicized in LA. That has its pros, and its cons.

LSU get's the lion's share of state funding by comparison to other universities and enjoys leeway other universities do not get, but it also get's a lot of scrutiny and has a lot of legislators who think because of the funding and leeway, LSU is beholden to them.

Long story short: F. King (and JBE) are doing nothing political posturing to get what they want.

LSU sports programs are not broke GUMP!
The LSU system isn't getting enough tax dollars, or private donations and stupid people assume we don't have the money in our Athletic fund.

I was 14 when that case was ongoing and it interested me highly. We only got so much from watching it on TV and no one knew if what the media was saying was true or not.

I'd never heard that line before last night....I lost my shite when he said that to Darden....my wife was wondering WTF was going on LOL. I researched on if it was actually said and more or less it was....just some discrepancy on whether he said in in the courtroom or in the hall. That whole glove sequence justified every bit of money that OJ ending up paying Cochran, Bailey, and Shapiro IMO....it's basically what got him off of a crime that most thought (and still do) he committed.

Back on topic....LSU admin sucks just as much or more than JJ.

Why? I'd have to think your alum donate tons to academics, even more than athletics.

Simmons was the downfall of the team. Next year after all the selfish players are gone, we can truly appreciate Johnny for his coaching talents. He'll have the Tigahs dancing again next march

1) Donors gave A&M over $1B and a 100K stadium over the last few years.

2) Top 5 finish nationally

3) Best W-L avg in over a decade in a tougher conference than the Big 12

4) Full stadiums

5) Heisman winner

6) Best recruiting in almost 20 years

7) TX players coming back to play for Sumlin from Oregon and Oklahoma.

8) LSU coaches rather prefer Sumlin over Les Miles

Because as poor a job he did this year, his overall record isn't bad enough to justify firing him.

It will probably happen after next year. Simmons leaving and a pretty mediocre class coming in. Ticket sales are going to plummet next season

They offered him back to North Texas. UNT said no thanks (not that they've done anything since he left).

Hiring a new OC, the return of proven stud OL Coach Jim Turner, and hiring DT Coach Dave Turner has significantly shored up Sumlin's staff.

Sumlin has the Aggies on the right track with these changes.

It doesn't hurt that Sumlin also has very powerful friends.

Most fanbases have potbangers. Ignore the Aggie potbangers, because they don't have shite for say.

Jones' coaching talents were obscured and buried in a mountain of egos and "me-first" individuality. Now that all that will be moving on, the CBB nation will finally see what a coaching treasure LSU truly has for it's program.....
