It shouldn't be, they just need to hire the right coach. A good coach with the resources that A&M has in the recruiting hotbed that is Texas should compete for championships every year.

How's that ex-wife doing?

Didn't she divorce you because of your unhealthy obsession with TAMU?

You need serious psychological help.

Aggies would be top 2 easily right now in Big 12.

If A&M was smart, they'd cut a check to Sumlin to go away and back the truck up for McIntyre at Colorado.

Finally a rational post!

A&M's problems in football can easily be cured with a good coaching hire.

I thought Mike Sherman was doing a great job of incrementally putting a&m in a position to compete nationally. Sumlin benefitted greatly early on with what Sherman left him.

I don't know that Sherman would have consistently recruited the type of talent we needed to win big in the SEC. Him and Sumlin were polar opposites in many ways, but the weak arse LB and DL crew you saw us field in 2013 were all Sherman recruits

We got really lucky with our lack of injuries on the defensive end in 2012

And this is in no way defending Sumlin, but they struggle in different areas IMO (aside from not being able to recruit DL and LB well)

sherm had a great eye for talent but his two flaws were 1. he was a terrible play caller 2. his practices were way too lax.

He had a great eye for under the radar talent but couldn't close on the top tier recruits we needed to win at a high level. Maybe with the SEC and new facilities he would have, who knows.

What the poor horn won't post, is that A&M was then deemed its own standalone university in both items in the Texas constitution were written before Texas university in Austin was ever formed
