It's just a question...and I'm where I was before I asked...there isn't a legitimate reason...I know it will work itself out, just wanted to get everyones opinion. FWIW I think Alabama will defeat UF in the SEC championship game.

In the current system, even at this point in the season, a team's ranking is partly based on reputation. For Florida, that reputation includes 2 recent BCS Championships, while that of Alabama includes choking in the Sugar Bowl against Utah.

Simple....they're better than you until proved otherwise. After all they did win the national championship last year.....AND BEAT YOUR arse in the SEC championship...beat Florida IF you get the chance this year, and then ask your question.

ummm, they are a better team? they won the NC last year, were preseason #1 and have not lost a game? or maybe there's a national conspiracy underfoot that puts them #1 because the nation hates bama so much? or they just want to piss off the bama fans that think they are entitled because they had on good coach 50 yrs ago and now think their shite doesn't stink?

post like these crack me up. why does it matter right now? if bama is as good as the fans say they are they will likely play florida in the sec championship right? i will say this, when a team forces bama to throw the ball they will get beat. it's going to be interesting to see what hapens when they play tennessee. i don't think tennessee wins, but i do think their defense will give alabama fits.

We started at Number 1 and the preseason #1 tends to stay there until they lose...which is how it should be.
