Players opting out, players just not interested, so maybe the fans should start being uninterested in college football

College football is headed in a downward spiral going nowhere

Bowl games are an anachronism in 2022-23. The way college football is moving makes them less relevant with each passing season.

The Arkansas game was great. If I weren’t a fan of either team, I’d have thought it was an incredible game. Embarrassing the Hogs almost gave them the game, but was exciting to watch.

Sponsors will start dropping if the best players opt out, so it will take care of itself.

Well, this season has been wrapped up since the first 15 minutes of Georgia v Oregon. Everything else has just been arranging the chairs.

That's been happening for some time. I don't think I've seen a sold out bowl game yet this year and I'm not until the Peach Bowl.

It could force the ncaa to move for 16+ teams in the playoff so they can have less opt outs.

Sad time.

Are they? I hadn't noticed. I guess some teams don't have that problem.

"Breaking News.... SEC Rant poster zed44 is the first poster to make accusations that college bowl games are useless. He ends with bold predictions that ""College football is headed in a downward spiral going nowhere"" which others have stated but zed44 has some interesting insight."

Should have been done at halftime, refs let kansas back in. When you are choking a player and drop them how is it not called (basically an O lineman does sleeper hold on a defensive lineman.

It was kinda fun as an Arkansas fan.

We were down to 48 scholarship players so a lot of young guys got to play and get ready for big roles next year.

That’s nothing. Lsu was down to 3 guys last year and some of the janitorial staff. They are still an inspiration to generations of bad football teams

I got to enjoy some good football games of teams that I am unaffiliated with so them not having a player doesn’t bother me.

I don’t understand you people that don’t want more football to watch

I'm watching them.

If you don't like them, don't watch.

Do you bitch about the other 500 channels that you don't watch on a regular basis?
Or is this just a cry for attention?

Again, I don't understand why you care. Just don't watch the game. Its really simple. I'm not a big fan of the nba, therefore i elect to not watch the NBA. Now i guess technically i could spend a lot of time going around trying to convince TV networks and fans around the city that it shouldn't exist but the much easier option for me is to just not watch it. If there are TV sponsors out there willing to pay whatever it costs for the game to be played and the teams to profit off of it then why does it matter to you?

After last night, I tend to agree. Our team didn’t give a shite and it literally has no impact on our program to win or lose that game
