WRs have not been reliable so far, had like 4 drops against Syracuse (in 16 throws), and I believe 3 each against MSU and Auburn.

Harris has played very well and we have zero complaints about him. Everyone else needs to step up around him and catch the ball. That being said, when LF7 cannot be stopped, there's not much of a need to throw the ball.

We are the only team in the country without a turnover to this point.

Why throw when you have the best player in the country in the backfield?

Can't stop, won't stop.

Hate on.

I think B. Harris has been eased into the system for sure.

The main positive I take is that on the 2nd drive aginst SU, Les decided to throw the ball on 1st down 3 times in a row completing all 3 passes. That would have never happened the last few years.

WRs had some bad drops which could be from a lack of targets in game. Something that I think will be addressed the next couple of weeks with increased reps.

LSU fans are convinced he's a viable quarterback, so I'm not sure why the coaches don't open it up and let him fling it all over the field. We all know how knowledgeable LSU fans are.

You QB experts tell me how many passes Harris should be throwing a game.

they have been slowly taking the wraps off him. With LF as well as Williams, Guice and Brossette we're always going to be a run first team, but if you look at the stats this past week they called 39 runs and 24 passes, which is edging closer towards balance than what we saw in weeks 1 and 2. Given that we lost out on the McNesse game, I understand why they would move slowly with Brandon.

Definitely won't need Harris to come through for us during the Florida game

I think he is slowly letting him get more freedom to throw.

It makes sense. He really is still relatively inexperienced, and why would you put him under undue pressure until he has more game reps? LF can carry the load while Harris improves.

I think he will air it out more in November.

He has. Les and Cam have opened up the passing a little more each game so far. With the first game getting cancelled, it delayed how soon they were able to do this. Haris threw it more on Saturday, but several passes were dropped by the receivers. The huge number of penalties affected the game plan, or Harris probably would have gotten more throws.

He's 3-0, no turnovers & has increased his amount of throws each game. Not to mention, first 2 games were division opponents.

But ty for your interest in our QB, you have every right to be concerned.

It's amazing that Bama fans continue to criticize Harris and LSU's passing game at this point.

I like the playcalling so far, to be honest. I think it will get better too. I think Harris looks good.

I also wonder if Les and Cam are worried about passing more because of the lack of depth on the defensive line. They are getting gassed in the second half of games and I wonder if they're afraid of risking quicker 3 and outs if they pass more, which would put the defense on the field too much.

The series that people need to pay attention to from last weekend is the very 1st scoring drive. Keep in mind this drive started on LSU's own 9 yard line. The coaches definitely trusted Harris a ton here.

1st and 10 at LSU 9
Brandon Harris pass complete to Malachi Dupre for 12 yds to the LSU 21 for a 1ST down
1st and 10 at LSU 21
Brandon Harris pass complete to Trey Quinn for 14 yds to the LSU 35 for a 1ST down
1st and 10 at LSU 35
LSU Penalty, False Start (Jerald Hawkins) to the LSU 30
1st and 15 at LSU 30
Brandon Harris pass complete to John Diarse for 12 yds to the LSU 42
2nd and 3 at LSU 42
LSU Penalty, False Start (-5 Yards) to the LSU 37
2nd and 8 at LSU 37
Leonard Fournette run for 48 yds to the Syrac 15 for a 1ST down
Play
1st and 10 at SYR 15
Darrel Williams run for 1 yd to the Syrac 14
2nd and 9 at SYR 14
Leonard Fournette run for 14 yds for a TD, (Trent Domingue KICK)

This was in response to Scruffy, acting all insulted by the OP's question. There's a reason that other fans would like to know why LSU won't unleash the passing game. It's called 3+ years of you clowns not knowing what a forward pass is.

Yeah, Jordan Jefferson was a world beater wasn't he? Then after Mettenburger you've had nothing and you know it!
