Why does a successful UA football program have to make a movie about its own coach and then advertise to sell tickets to their games?

Yeah, because Alabama needed to do that in order to sell tickets

I'm still a little baffled as to why Saban agreed to this. No doubt the man has an ego but I doubt that was behind it. Best answer I've heard is that it was a pissed off reaction to AU's recruiting class last year and it being so "under the table", but who knows. But the one thing I'm sure it wasn't, was to sell tickets.

Why are such successful programs like LSU & Bama so scared of a team that has to advertise their football ticket phone number and website for 2011 season tickets at movie theaters in Alabama??

By the way it is a simple answer to your dumb question. Auburn doesn't have near the sidewalk and bandwagon fans LSU and bammer have although LSU & bammer both do their own advertising.

What that tells me is that there is not a SINGLE person on the waiting list...meanwhile another 12000+ seat requests go denied each year in Baton Rouge.

It must be tough to sell tickets to the ONLY state university football program worth a shite in the SECOND largest population center in the state.

Uhmmm... are you getting your information from ITAT?

No I have eyes. There was a large section of the endzone upper deck that had many empty seats and has been acknowledged by other bama fans in this thread.

Maybe you guys should sell tickets by half. They can give second half tickets those 12000+ who get denied then maybe the stadium could stay close to full after so many bail at halftime.

If you're Auburn, why waste the advertising money, go right to the source.

Pay fans to show up.

Pay for watch.

:rotflmao:

Are you serious? I have never seen more "Auburn" fans in my life. Most of my home town consists of fans that claim to be Auburn fans ONLY when they have a decent season, otherwise they just claim they "don't care who wins" or claim to be fans of other teams. The whole "All In" and "family" scenario only holds true for Auburn when they have a "winning" season.

Yes, I'm serious. Are you honestly telling me that bama has less sidewalk fans than Auburn??? I would say about 70-80% of your fans never attended the university of alabama and that is probably a conservative number. 60% probably have never even stepped foot on campus and 25% probably don't even know where Tuscaloosa is.

I'm not saying that we don't have bandwagon fans. Every school has bandwagon fans. Every school also has fans that give them a bad name.

But for you to say that Auburn has less bandwagon fans than LSU and Bama....that's absolutely absurd!

Actually it's not. It's pretty common knowledge that Alabama has more fans than Auburn. More fans are going to equal more bandwagon fans, it's just the nature of the beast. And well, LSU has a whole state to themselves.

And I wasn't really talking about bandwagon fans, I was talking about sidewalk fans.

I'm willing to bet the that the number of sidewalk fans is directly proprotional to the success of the program.
So it is pretty ironic when one fan tries to cut down another program by saying they have more "sidewalk fans." It just means that the program is successful.

We don't. We've sold out every game for over 20 years. Auburn could hardly get people in the upper decks in 2009.
